Works on Segment 2 of Phase 3 are progressing, with the removal of existing pavement blocks currently underway up to the Rasfannu area.
Alongside this, cable trench shuttering and utility pipe installation works are ongoing at Segment 1. Concrete works for the cable trenches are scheduled to begin next week.
The upgraded road infrastructure will provide smoother and more convenient travel for residents of Malé City.

In collaboration with the @MoEDmv, Transport and Trade, MTCC launched its Road Safety Awareness Sessions today, 22 October 2026, to strengthen safety awareness and promote responsible road use among employees.
The sessions cover current road rules and regulations, safe driving and pedestrian practices, motorcycle and passenger safety, heavy-vehicle blind spots, and safe following distances.
The opening ceremony was graced by State Minister Hon. Ismail Rifau as Chief Guest, with remarks delivered by the CEO of the Greater Malé Transport and Mobility Office (GMTMO), Mr. Yoosuf Maaniu Mohamed, and MTCC’s General Manager, Mr. Farish. Director General of GMTMO, Ms. Hamiyaa Latheef, and other ministry delegates also attended the session.
The sessions were led by instructors Muaz Rasheed, Mariyam Ashfa Hussain, and Suaad Mohamed. Together, let’s build a safer road environment for everyone. 🚌

Today, we launched our National Road Safety Awareness Program, an initiative to promote safer roads by raising awareness of road safety measures, preventing crashes, injuries and fatalities, and addressing common mistakes on the road.
We conducted our inaugural session for @MTCCPlc team, marking the first step towards building a stronger culture of road safety and making our roads safer for all.
Mr. Jashim Uddin, Senior Service Assistant, has retired after 21 dedicated years of service. His unwavering commitment and exemplary work have left a lasting impact and earned the respect of his colleagues.
