During Mental Illness Awareness Week, MDCR is reminding every Michigander that we understand the importance of ensuring people living with mental health conditions are treated fairly and without discrimination. Mental health conditions may qualify as disabilities under the Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act (PWDCRA) of 1976: which can provide protections against discrimination in areas like employment, housing, and public accommodations. If you believe you have experienced discrimination because of a disability, including a qualifying mental health condition, contact MDCR at Michigan.gov/mdcr or 800-482-3604.
