What a weekend!
A huge thank you to everyone who made the launch of The Liminal Review 2026 at @Tate Modern possible. Seeing so many members of the Lumen community come together to celebrate the breadth of art created with technology made this a particularly special moment for us.
We are deeply grateful to our Jury member and event curator Annie Bicknell, and to the team at @Tate for bringing The Evolving Studio to life and creating such an incredible space for these practices and conversations.
To our author, Dr @RachelMFalconer @GoldsmithsUoL, thank you for the insight and dedication that you brought to this work, and for your continued support for those in this ecosystem.
Our thanks also go to Supporting Partner and Key Contributor: Onassis ONX, and to Prodromos Tsiavos for joining us in person for the launch and sharing his perspective during our panel conversation.
To our Technology Partner @museframe, and especially Dyl, for proving the screens that enabled us to share our finalistsโ work so beautifully throughout the day.
It was a joy to welcome Lumen Prize Award Winners @CuteCircuit and @CaballeroAnaMa back to share their work, alongside our panellists and moderators @AlexEstorick, Marsha Bradford and Val Ravaglia, who brought so much to the dayโs conversations.
And finally, to every contributor who lent their voice to this yearโs Review, and every artist who trusted us with their work: thank you.
2,225 submissions from 82 countries sit behind this research.
This weekend gave us the opportunity to bring some of those ideas into the room and celebrate the community behind them.
We'll be sharing more content from the day throughout the week so keep your eyes on our social channels for that.

The Liminal Review 2026 is live.
Across 2,225 submissions from 82 countries, a change is taking place in how artists are working with technology.
At the centre of this yearโs Review is agency. Artists are increasingly working within technological systems that can operate without being directly instructed or observed.
So where does responsibility sit when the system itself begins to act?
Authored by Dr Rachel Falconer, Daemons: New Processes in Arts Technologies identifies four processes emerging across this yearโs submissions:
Thalassic Drift
Haptic Undertow
Palimpsest Sediment
Jurisdictional Static
Over the coming weeks, weโll move through each Daemon and the artists whose work brought them into view.

Meet the author of The Liminal Review 2026: Dr @RachelMFalconer.
Rachel is a digital art curator, researcher, writer and educator, and Head of Creative Technology at @GoldsmithsUoL.
Returning to author 'The Liminal Review' for a second year, Rachel has spent the past few months looking closely at over 2,000 submissions from 80+ countries to understand what they can tell us about the ideas taking shape across contemporary art and technology.
The result is ๐๐ฎ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐: ๐ก๐ฒ๐ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต๐ป๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐ถ๐ฒ๐, identifying four processes running through artistic practice in 2026 and asking what they reveal about our changing relationship with technology.
Over the coming weeks, weโll be sharing more from Rachel and the thinking behind this yearโs Review.
The Liminal Review 2026 launches on 26 September at @Tate Modern.
We'd love you to join us.

The CuteCircuit talk responding to the Le Parc exhibition is such a clever pairing! 60s kinetic art meets wearable tech. Very tempted, and the Jennifer Walshe lecture too. Booked!
