design teams have spent years trying to get people to actually read their design system documentation. agents can read them every single time they write code. new article on design systems for agents: lukew.com/ff/2164/design-sys…

if your work is mostly following instructions, whoever writes those instructions can now just hand them to an agent.
I'm starting to sense a divide in the tech industry: - People thriving on autonomy who are reinventing how they work and what tools they use with AI: LOTS of work, but they're enjoying it and getting very efficient - People used to being mentored / trained / or simply told what to do and how. Frustrated with the lack of guidance from management on what to do with AI; also frustrated by seeing some of their peers thriving; increasingly bitter about AI and the state of the industry, as a whole Neither group seems to be aware that there's another group, or have empathy for the other group

the world you’re applying for a job in no longer exists. there’s remnants of it in bigger older companies, but not for long.

Before AI: “I don’t have enough time to make everything I want.” After AI: no change.

people buying the outcome (it drives me places) not the tool (a car) will impact lots more products esp. software. at a high level, this is how AI upends existing companies.
People are buying FSD with a car attached, not the other way around

agents do a lot (reasoning, tool use, delegation, monitoring, etc.). how much of that work do you show people in your app's UI? made a tool to try out different designs, tweak details, and animate them: intentapp.dev/agentwork
