If you see an LCP parent volunteer, give them a hug or a high-five - they're the real MVPs! 🏆 From our PTOs to our Booster Clubs to our Watch D.O.G.S., and everything in between, the LCP family is better because of the moms and dads (and grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles, and more) who never stop showing up for our students, staff, and campuses! These incredible volunteers help out at school, raise funds to support student activities, serve meals to our teachers, make our hallways look amazing, plan book fairs and fall festivals, organize give-back nights at area restaurants, share important messages with our families, and help us celebrate the many wins happening across our district. From the big events to the everyday acts of service, they are always finding ways to make a difference, and we could not do what we do without them! Their hard work is usually behind the scenes, but it deserves the biggest shoutout! To every parent, grandparent, and volunteer who gives their time, energy, and heart to our schools: THANK YOU! #LCPfamily

🔬🔎 Real-world learning in action! Students from LCHS and Liberty HS recently visited the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Laboratory in Lubbock for a behind-the-scenes look at forensic science! From evidence intake to ballistics, DNA, fingerprint, and chemical analysis, students explored the many ways forensic scientists analyze evidence and support criminal investigations. This hands-on learning experience gave students a closer look at the science behind the scenes and the career opportunities available in the field! A big thank-you to the DPS Crime Laboratory team for welcoming our Pirates and Patriots and providing this valuable learning opportunity!

If approved, revenue generated by LCISD's proposed VATRE would help address the district's ongoing budget deficit, which is driven in by rising operational costs and the gap between available funding and the cost of educating students. Approximately 85% of the projected VATRE revenue would go toward employee compensation. The remaining revenue would help LCISD sustain district operations, including school safety and student programming. Learn more about LCISD's proposed VATRE at lcisd.net/o/lcisd/page/vatre.
