FRANCE 🇫🇷 : A heartbreaking scene😢. A business owner desperately pleads with looters and vandals to leave her shop alone. Her livelihood is being destroyed before her eyes. No business owner should have to endure this.

JUST IN🚨: Brain scans have revealed children living with unstable families (excessive, arguing, abusive and neglectful) have brain changes similar to combat soldiers after active duty.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Recycles 2011 study: heightened fMRI reactivity to angry faces in small sample of children exposed to family violence (not general unstable families), similar to some soldier patterns. Not recent; posted images unrelated generic brain scans. sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/… psypost.org/maltreated-chi… sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

"With aim assist enabled, most of the neurons were unnecessary" This is exactly why aim assist is an issue. You can offload the mental bandwidth needed for tracking and put it towards other aspects of the game, while also reducing human error and increasing gameplay consistency regardless of external factors like poor sleep
The Fruit Fly can play axle on controller I trained all 166,700 neurons in the MaleCNS v1.0 fruit fly connectome to play Axle in Apex Legends, using YOLOv5 plus video pretraining. With aim assist enabled, most of the neurons were unnecessary. #ApexLegends

🚨ran the numbers on this… 1k → 8k wireless polling for MOTION latency: ~1.4–1.5ms typical difference, and some mice gain even less than that 🔸2k covers ~63% of the gap, leaves ~0.53ms on table 🔸4k covers ~84%, leaving only ~0.14ms So even in its natural core benefit of motion latency, the difference is less than half a millisecond in isolated testing. And likely EVEN LESS in a real multiplayer game... Really do not see any scenario to use 8k anymore👋
Since the data is getting old, I have decided to publish all of my mouse motion latency test results that I have been collecting for the past 2 years. The video attached is my measurement setup. My paper about the methods is nearly finished and I will aim to publish it soon, too.

@Tw1tterIsGood has an insane MOTION latency rig. His data includes mice such as the OP1 8k v2, Viper V4 pro, NP-01S V3, X2 SuperStrike,... He's measured the XA25 too. And it's reassuring to see that it's faster than them all. Closest is the OP1 8k v2, 70us slower than the XA25.

Logistics update for XA25's launch on 9/22, 9AM PT / 12PM ET / 6PM CEST: 1. Launch regions: we're shipping worldwide to 188 countries and regions, not just NA/EU/JP. Ask us to confirm yours. 2. US customers: free shipping to all 50 states. For this batch, sales tax is collected on California orders only. 3. Japanese pre-orders will be sold EXCLUSIVELY by @NitroFactory_JP at 1800 JST on 9/22 (7 hours before the rest of the world). More details to be shared soon. 4. International shipping: we'll be providing DDP shipping for roughly $20 instead of the previous $15 DDU option, so that international customers avoid expensive carrier handling fees on delivery. For most, this lowers the total cost. Details and examples in reply. 5. For returns, replacements, and minor repairs: Europe: @ModsMouse Japan: @NitroFactory_JP Everywhere else: you'll need to ship your mouse back to the US. 6. Return window: 30 days. Warranty: 1 year. P.S. XA25 reviews will be dropping this week from @jakeufps, @panDAHLING_, and @NitroFactory_JP. 3rd party latency measurements also coming soon.

if you ever end up manufacturing anything yourself, please let me know if you still have the same opinion because i’m genuinely curious if that experience is what alters my consumer sentiment i see where you’re coming from and i would even agree with you if it were mass produced, but this is literally a hand assembled product by a solo developer he is likely hardly profiting *before* taking the value of his time into account if you go to any manu and ask for only 500 units they’re gonna laugh at you and give you unit prices you could cry at i know you mean well, but i would personally be very hesitant to call a personal project overpriced i personally would probably feel quite hurt if someone told me my products were overpriced when i’m already subsidizing product prices by not charging extra for my time, because that would almost insinuate my time is with worth *less than* zero when it’s solo project you’re not just criticizing a faceless company, it’s very easy to take it personally i think even the m3k price is justified for being a novelty product with small team the m3k is significantly more expensive (over 2x as much) and xbab is even smaller scale than zaunkoenig! the xa25 is virtually the same weight as the m3k, with twice the volume, meaning the density is half as much making it redicously expensive and the xa25 has *side buttons* which is a game changer he could have easily taxed more for having by far the best latency in the industry right now (look into the marius board and their pricing if you think this seems too much), and he didn’t @xbabtech is a developer skilled enough to easily be making high 6 figures elsewhere, and yet he’s making mice at near margin (likely working as his own factory worker too) for the love of the game

This is free advice from an expensive psychologist. If you’re an anxious person, do everything for fun. Go to a job interview for fun. Submit documents for fun. Start a blog for fun. Anxiety feeds on importance. Don’t make everything a matter of life and death.
