Blanka Vas not starting at cyclocross World Championships after viral infection
Blanka Vas will not start tomorrow at the cyclocross world championships in Tábor. The 22-year-old Hungarian is struggling with a viral infection. "It is baleful that Blanka cannot participate in the World Championships," said sport director Lars Boom. "After she already missed part of her cyclocross winter due to a collarbone injury, her form was back just in time for a good performance at the World Championships. But Blanka spent the past few days sick in bed. It's a shame she can't defend her chances in Tábor, because she found a surface there that suits her. But starting is not an option. Rest and recovery take precedence now."
