They coming for our gold with alchemy and our bitcoin with quantum.
This might be the most bearish development for gold I’ve ever seen.
Marathon Fusion is proposing to turn mercury into actual, stable gold using nuclear fusion, potentially producing 5 tonnes of gold annually per GW of electricity generation.
Not gold-like material. Actual gold.
It’s still theoretical, but if this becomes commercially scalable, the implications for gold’s long-term scarcity could be enormous.
We’re literally talking about turning mercury into gold as a byproduct of generating electricity.
WTF.
some traders have mentioned they are being offered large piles of cash to leave fomo & trade on another app for 3 months.
our response is and always will be that we will never pay anyone to trade on our app.
the entire fomo network has been built organically. we feel that the only way we can build a long term social platform for finance is for it to be organic.
every social platform allows for better experiences as a user grows. we must allow for the same and do things that scale the social graph.
i.e. attribution, monetization, etc. are problems we MUST solve in order to achieve this goal.
we have lots of exciting things to launch that will allow top users grow with the platform as they bring balue.
on the flip side, we’re also grateful to have helped build a social network where the top users can command such high markets. there are some ppl i speak to where i suggest taking the deal if its something thatll help their life. i am never someone to get in the way of someone and their business.
the value of todays top users on fomo is already so high, and we only expect that to grow. traders are the next celebrities and they will be the biggest celebrities among the current & future generations to come. we hope fomo can steward in that future.
today, people use fomo because it is the best product and because we treat people with respect and transparency. those are the only two things that matter to us.
with scale comes problems to solve. we are committed to making this the best trading product in the world. every waking hour is spent towards working to this goal (including this one).
as always, my dm’s are always open for feedback, issues, and ideas.
Ansem loves what fomo has built so far, but he believes that educating the next generation of traders represents the platform’s most significant opportunity
“I love fomo”
“I think fomo's done a great job so far this cycle with hitting the social trends”
“What is going to be interesting going forward is the education piece”
“It's really easy to trade, cross-chain, any assets, stocks, perps, meme coins”
“It's kind of hard for your person who doesn't know what all these assets are to get good education”
“Most people don't even know what market cap is”
“They might size things the exact same way”
Asked by Frank Chaparro what he would like fomo to incorporate, @blknoiz06 focused on helping newer traders understand the markets they're entering.
He appreciates the platform's social trading experience and the accessibility of different asset classes, but sees a gap between making trades easy to execute and helping users make informed decisions.
Someone unfamiliar with market capitalization might approach a $1 million memecoin and a $1 billion asset with the same position size, without understanding the differences in liquidity, volatility or risk.
Ansem also wants users to have better ways to evaluate the traders they follow, understand their strategies and learn how different markets work.
As @fomo attracts people with varying levels of experience, he sees education as an area worth investing in alongside the trading experience.
Making the platform easier to navigate is valuable, and helping users develop better judgment could give them more reason to keep using it over time.

Our focus is the long term viability of fomo. That starts with the decisions we make now to create a solid foundation
A foundation where users feel confident that the investment they make now, to build a personal brand and an identity, won't collapse beneath them
Paul Erlanger says fomo is designed around long-term hold time to reward real creators and believers.
“The fundamental fabric and in every decision calculus we make, it’s how do we get and promote a platform where people could hold longer?”
“The creator rewards which we did $15 million in payouts in September alone, are used to incentivize holding on the platform.”
“If you could encourage holding, then as you transition to longer term assets, you could build this underlying social graph where communities can start on any of these things.”
“Right now we’re in the highest friction period, cause we gotta bring the off-chain assets on-chain.”

Built a fog map for fun.
Added a GeoGuessr-style game. Has a mode with spaced repetition of a borough that visualizes the mental fog clearing when you get them right. Will make a browser version. What game should I add next to help people learn their way around?

s/o to @fomo, creator rewards have been fucking insane
could probably be making multiples more given my account size, but that would mean blasting every random dogshit coin and turning my followers into exit liquidity
not worth it imo, plenty of money to be made without fucking over your own followers
still a massive W

Have we gotten Darth Jar-Jar yet?
This is better content than anything HBO has put out in the last decade. A non-anime take on female Malfoy in Harry Potter. Obviously it has AI artifacts and isn't perfect but this is not slop at all. People can finally tell the stories they actually want without being gatekept. It's only going to get better from here.

random prediction:
the first app that truly nails social trading across perps + stocks will become one of the biggest social networks in the world
social media has always been about identity + status
facebook = your life
insta = your lifestyle
linkedin = your career
the next layer is simply your capital imo
in an increasingly financialized society like we are rn, your portfolio becoming part of your social identity feels pretty obvious
i expect social trading to get a lot bigger as it expands into liquid markets like stocks and perps
we've already seen how much attention public P&Ls can attract in memecoins, but larger markets make it easier for successful traders to scale their positions and share trades without the same liquidity constraints
once people start seeing massive P&Ls on stocks like Apple or Amazon, i think the appeal of following and copying skilled traders becomes much broader
there's a lot more room for social trading to grow beyond memecoins
finally, my favorite book will become a movie.
although it’d be better as a tv show, and lawrence is a questionable director choice.
ps my pfp is darrow and my banner is an iron rain.
A ‘RED RISING’ movie is in the works at Paramount
• Francis Lawrence (‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’) set to direct
• The story follows a young miner living on Mars who attempts to bring down the color-coded class system

What if instagram had no discovery?
No consumer financial platform has gone fully mainstream because people join and have no clue what to do
People discovery through people

While everyone is focused on referrals, here’s where I’ve made $50k in 45 days just by holding my bags on @fomo dropping thesis on my conviction bags without selling.
No paid deal. No special treatment. Just doing what I’ve done since I got into memecoins, having conviction.
