The book is now out in print amazon.in/Masala-Body-Engine…
It took 3 years, but finally, Masala Body, the sequel to Masala Lab, is now available for pre-order. It continues from where the previous book left off - following a mouthful of biryani down the digestive system.

Where I explain why you stop breathing when swallowing food instagram.com/reel/DerivcRS4…
1. Spreads the oil more evenly creating fewer uneven hotpots
2. Creates a thin, temporary non-stick layer that reduces the risk of the dosa sticking. You can rub pretty much any watery vegetable you want - brinjal, ivy gourd etc. But the onion also adds a bit of its flavour

An update: that original video has now been deleted, but 100s of opportunistic “aggregators” have reposted it and thus it’s still in circulation
Remember that ridiculously viral reel that compared "Indian" and European food and asked "Why is no one talking about this?"
Turns out this is why no one is talking about this 😅

The final edits of Rearview and everything around the book kept me away from reading for the last few weeks. Yesterday, these books arrived. I had been waiting for them, and I can’t wait to get started. @krishashok @chiefsanjay first look is promising.
Most people end up undercounting fat calories when trying to count calories.
How you add oil to the pan makes a huge difference.
Silicone brush, tiny smear: ~10–20 kcal
Oil spray, quick coat: ~10–25 kcal
Dispenser with holes: ~20–40 kcal
1 tsp: ~40 kcal
1 tbsp: ~120 kcal
Free pour: very easily ~200-250+ kcal
if you are counting calories, no matter what app you use, and how honest you think you are, add 20% to whatever you log 😁

"Respect professional credentials, absolutely, but don't confuse the license to practise with a monopoly on understanding." A wonderful and very versatile sentence by @krishashok in his latest book. Can think of so many contemporary situations where this fits so aptly.
