Reddit mod for r/opensource has decided to ban projects that use ANY AI at all. While I understand the sentiment of reducing low effort slop posts / projects, I think it highlights the need for better tooling to moderate AI quality. I personally feel like this is the wrong approach and ignoring or banning AI (whether for ethical or quality reasons) outright isn't a good stance and counter to where the future of software development is going. From Mod: "The long story short, if your project uses AI, is made by AI, or is intended for AI, it's not welcome on r/opensource. AI, as it exists today, is incongruent to this Open Source community."
