Congrats on the huge update, Eugenia! When @ekuyda joined us earlier this year, she described going from months of app development to “one prompt and it’s there”. It's cool to see Wabi taking this to a whole other level now with group chats and collaboration.
Wabi 2.0 is live! personal agents are one person, one chat. but the parts of life that matter run on more than one person Wabi is an agent you use together. you talk to it, it does stuff, builds the apps you need, and anyone can join the thread - your partner, your best friend, the preschool moms groupchat school changes pickup time → Wabi updates the family calendar, everyone sees it. a show you’d both love → Wabi finds a night that works, gets the tickets. the trip everyone keeps talking about → Wabi picks the dates, builds the itinerary, books it go start a thread with your people 👇

"Julian was the first check." @Dhravyashah was 18 when VCs started DMing him about Supermemory, one of the fastest-growing repos on GitHub. He wasn't raising: "This was a side project of mine. I had no idea what I was doing." So he waited, and launched exactly when he thought there should be a round. Half a million views on day 1 of the Solo Founders Program. micro1 just announced it hit $1B annual run rate with no 996, no office mandate and no forced weekends. @aliansarinik's take on 996: “very cheesy… very cringey overall.” Drop arbitrary rules and model ideal behavior. “Our culture is very hardcore but we’re also very kind.”
about 3 years ago, micro1 lost 60% of its revenue overnight and almost went bankrupt. today, i'm proud to share we've surpassed $1B annual run rate while remaining historically profitable. it’s been a special journey. we’re grateful for every struggle, moment, and person who has been part of it. we've taken a very untraditional path to get here. our core team is only ~180 people, spanning 14+ countries, and fully remote. many of our decisions sacrifice hundreds of millions of revenue and slow us down short term. but we believe they compound into advantages that are impossible to replicate long term. the long term is now. these are the 8 principles that made micro1 a leader in the data industry and will soon make us number one: 1.) human 1st AI: treat the tens of thousands of experts helping train models with absolute best-in-class care. our goal is to make AI training one of the largest, highest paying, and most enjoyable job sectors in the world. 2.) U.S. first: we refuse to work with adversarial nations, or export data that improves models against the interests of Americans. 3.) long-term research over short-term ARR: invest in deep research, products, and infrastructure for years from now, not just the next customer pipeline. 4.) proper incentives for intensely hard work: no arbitrary requirements like 996. inspire people to work extremely hard with outlier incentive structures instead of forcing weekend work. we’ve maintained close to 100% core team retention as a result. 5.) stay lean and global: we’ve reached $1B run rate with ~180 people, and intend to slow team growth significantly from here. exceptional talent is found around the world, and pedigree is the wrong thing to over-index on. 6.) execution alignment: company to retain a streamlined board so we can optimize for the next several decades, remain light-weight and dynamic, and take bold & calculated risks. 7.) abundant intelligence improvement: invest in building data generation models to make high-quality datasets and RL environments dramatically less expensive and more abundant. 8.) scale data on realism and horizon: realism brings the complexity of the real world into training models, while horizon extends how long models can work and how much complexity they can handle. both have enormous room to scale, and we’re pushing the limits of both. additionally: after surpassing $500M run rate this summer, we priced our Series B at a $4B valuation, alongside a ~$25M tender to give our early employees liquidity as we build for the long term. the round was led by Dream Ventures, a longtime supporter and one of our earliest investors, alongside Microsoft, Javelin, Flybridge, G Squared, Up Partners, and LG. we’re also grateful to be backed by incredible industry leaders, including Guodong Zhang (co-founder of xAI), Andy Fang (CTO of DoorDash), Igor Babuschkin (co-founder of xAI), Behnam Neyshabur (founder of Mirendil), Jerry Tworek (ex-VP of Research at OpenAI), and many more. data is on its way to becoming the largest industry humanity has ever seen, and we're certain this is just the beginning. best, Ali

If you're the one communicating and the person on the other end doesn't understand you, that's your fault. Julian Weisser (@julianweisser), who ran 27 founder cohorts at ODF (@joinodf) and now hosts his own founder interviews, says he never reviews conversations after the fact, even though transcription and video make that possible now. He credits Richard Feynman's idea that if you truly understand something, you can explain it to anyone from a four-year-old to an eighty-four-year-old. "You can tell by somebody's facial expression: do they get it, do they not get it." Full episode:youtu.be/7ku8WVvAmyc?si=m_5U…
New pod drop! Full circle - I met Julian (@julianweisser) almost 10 years ago in ODF 1 (~100 people, in person in SF). They’re on cohort 27 now, wild! He also recently launched Solo Founders (@solofounders) - we love to see it! We cover: - From Jazz to startups: let people play their own instruments - Giving early employees high equity - Co-founders aren’t forever — they have seasons - “If they don’t get it, that’s your fault” - Music school → On Deck → Solo Founders - Biggest risk isn’t dilution. It’s co-founder conflict - Life philosophy: keep going so much more! Timestamps (00:00) Trailer (00:51) Julian Weisser, Founder, Solo Founders (02:06) Calling his old jazz taste "musical masturbation" (20:17) 27 cohorts, thousands of founders, more reps than any VC (35:50) The $400K co-founder payout demand (39:45) The Hacker News post that led to Dropbox's first employee (44:45) Golden Gate Park was built from sand dunes (54:50) Why co-founders have seasons, not forever contracts (58:53) The "oddballs" who never wanted co-founders, including Loyal's Celine Halioua (1:00:59) Co-founders are the car phone. Solo founders are the cell phone. (1:06:47) Why owning less equity can mean more freedom (1:16:18) His two-word life philosophy: keep going (1:16:34) Outro Link - youtu.be/7ku8WVvAmyc

Have been looking forward to this one: Dave Morin on the Solo Founders Podcast. @davemorin was early at Facebook where he worked closely with Mark Zuckerberg on Facebook's developer platforms. Now he’s working with some of the top solo founders at Offline Ventures like Ben from Polsia and also chairs the OpenClaw foundation. 07:58 YouTube can be your co-founder 08:57 "I'm a producer, not an investor" 16:19 What Jony Ive told him when Steve Jobs died 18:50 The first twelve hours with @openclaw 34:15 "Am I crazy?" three months before @polsia 45:48 The 10,000-dinners test 53:32 The worst way solo founders fail 55:18 Just start

The wrong co-founder leaves you 50% as good as you could be. @FounderLaberge never had a co-founder. Instead, he taught himself spectroscopy and raised $41.5M to put sensors inside Al data centers (at 20). Calling all founders with an idea - codegen has made it such that you can start solo. Just get going. Talk to Julian!
I want to work with you (and invest $100k) if you... 1/ are building solo 2/ feel what you’re building is a calling, not work 3/ have paying customers (or have a good reason for not / building in deep tech) DM me about the upcoming Solo Founders Program
