It’s #FridayReads time! Let’s share books and boost all signals. Repost this and let us know what to repost for you. I’m in France on tour, so I’m sharing the novel that launched my career here. Oh, and it’s only $1.99 for Hispanic Heritage Month! amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0D8HN8NH…

I remember before Vanilla Ride was published you wrote a novel called Blue to the Bone that was going to be the final Hap and Leonard. I know you went in a different direction and continued their story but does Petrafied Dreams use some of that story? Or is it its own thing?

The Skeleton Key is one of my favorites for October viewing. Loaded with spooky atmosphere and a good 'ol creepy house. Got a nice twist ending that freaked me out. A great pick.

Yesterday's 'featured book' 💀
“Tales of Horror and the Supernatural” by Arthur Machen, published by The Richards Press in 1949. A posthumous collection of Machen’s more macabre and mystical works, it gathers fourteen of his best-known longer tales, along with an introduction by Philip Van Doren Stern. 1/2

Tight Little Stitches in a Dead Man’s Back by @joelansdale is far and away the best short story I have ever read. A week or so ago, I read it for the first time. Tonight, as I write this, it still lingers in my mind. Not From Detroit is my 2nd favourite of all time. Beautiful.

“MURDER AS A FINE ART is a masterpiece–I don’t use that word lightly–a fantastic historical thriller... It brilliantly recreates the London of gaslit streets, fogs, hansom cabs, and Scotland Yard. I was spellbound.”–Douglas Preston davidmorrell.net/books/murde…

Kasey Lansdale's debut novel "First Chance" deserves to be reviewed on its own merits apart from her father @joelansdale (and I've done that), there is one comparison that definitely deserves a shout-out. It's going to mean spoiling a scene from the Hap and Leonard novels.

Ahhh, maybe now they will slow down enough to accept my dinner invitation. One of the things I most looked forward to over the years was a new Hap and Leonard adventure.
