No one ever expects to see a unicorn.
But most people hope magic is real.
I walk the line.
Existing and believing in myself at the same damn time.

Today we celebrate the birthday of civil rights icon Fannie Lou Hamer, who boldly declared she was “sick and tired of being sick and tired.” ✊🏿 Her fearless fight for voting rights and equality still inspires us to speak truth to power. Rest in Power, Fannie Lou.

This is the Space Age
The age beyond the earth age:
A different direction beyond the gravitations of the past.
This is the Space Age:
The disguised twin of tomorrow
Striking upon the earth with relentless power.

Assata Shakur joins the ancestors a free woman. She did not die bound by the carceral system and she did not pass away living in a land that never respected or accepted her.
Assata taught us that liberation can not be bargained for, it must be taken.
Rest Free, Assata.

I'm talking about something that's so impossible, it can't possibly be true. But it's the only way the world's gonna survive, this impossible thing. My job is to change five billion people to something else. Totally impossible

Happy Heavenly Birthday to the great Roy Ayers!
Everybody loves the sunshine… but everybody loves you more. Thank you, Roy, for the wisdom, the laughter, the music, & the memories. For being exactly who you are, every single time.

Some history:

-It is now used as event venue, hotel and museum. It was the largest remaining antebellum mansion in the US

My album WEIRDO is out nowww!
I locked myself away for a year and poured all of me into this record. It’s full of pain and sorrow, but also silliness and laughter. It’s huge existential questions, but also a track about dinner. It’s diary entries over dirty grooves. It’s me.
