This is not how we expected to show up on Page Six.
If you use @transitapp and ride a bike, we'd love your input on the recommended bike routes we give you. Love 'em? Hate 'em? Room for improvement?
Send an email using this link on your phone to sound off: transit.app/contact_us
How excited am I about this? If you're a transit advocate, @transitapp wants to talk to you!
We're cooking up some ideas to help transit riders understand how to speak up for transit. Please DM me if you'd like to chat.
🗣️ Are you super plugged into public meetings in your city for transit and street safety projects?
✊ Would they be better if more people who take the bus or don't own a car showed up?
@transitapp is working on something that might interest you! Drop me a line. DMs are open…

You’re the likely #1 NBA draft pick, and you’re in NYC for the first time. What’s your top priority?
Why, taking the subway, naturally… 😍

Dear transpo reporters: I would read the shit out of an article about the operations/comms ways transit agencies are trying to manage the Taylor Swift transit demand spike. I want details! Added runs? Targeted social media? Please spill!

Having just spent a week in Montréal, I agree 100%. US transit advocates & professionals: go to Montréal, Toronto, Vancouver, weep at how good the transit is, then come home and demand the same!
US transit advocates: Don't just envy Europe; start by envying Canada! sf.streetsblog.org/2023/06/2…
There’s no possible excuse about “well, European cities just weren’t built for cars.” These are North American cities, and everything they have - density of the network, span + frequency, reliability, cleanliness & safety, and transit signal/ROW priority - can work in US cities.
TFW the Cincinnati reporter covering expected car congestion to the Taylor Swift concert starts by recommending everyone download @transitapp 🥰local12.com/news/local/metro…

Things we know (but are always helpful to see reinforced):
1. Speeding is the top reason for traffic fatalities
2. Reducing speeds requires street redesign
3. Reducing the number of lanes (this is a 4-3 conversion) can reduce speeding and improve safety.
This one weird trick forces people to drive the speed limit on Lyndale Avenue.

I wonder if the car industry knows that when motorists kill pedestrians, that's good for selling cars, just as mass shootings have proven to be good for selling guns. To be a pedestrian in a car dominated place is to be constantly reminded that everyone but you is armed.

Oh, no big deal, it’s just that it’s my first day as part of the Partnerships team at my favorite app on the entire planet @transitapp?! I’m definitely keeping it together over here…
PDX: a friend is planning to buy a fairly expensive ($900) road bike, and lock it behind his house. It will be locked to something solid, but this is a very bad idea, right? It’s just a matter of time before it gets stolen, right? @BikeIndex
