I feel strongly that it should be said: LLMs aren't clankers. Boopers, maybe. Clanker is reserved for our beloved, future robot overlords.

What if your brain was actually a parasite that inhabited and controlled your body as a host? ie what if your body was not your body, but just a body you borrowed?

I think in the push and pull of AI/SI/CI vs human intelligence, there will be a few iterations of AI amplifying intelligence through optimum, personalized education. There will be a spectrum shift. The AIs will train on that output, and the cycle will continue. How far?

It will change when models are no longer asymptotically constrained by the limits of human intelligence. There are lots of problems we can solve by brute force, but that brute force still doesn’t feel truly novel yet. Hypothetical and analogical modes of thinking will be key.

Will an AI truly create new scientific understanding? Will it be autonomous? When will it feel like an otherworldly stroke of genius rather than a voltron of all human understanding?

Ever use another agent to look something up so that you don’t appear stupid to the first agent? Me either.

We should just call it computational intelligence.

I saw a current youtube video where someone referred to X as "what used to be Twitter," and I couldn't decide whether that was "the artist formerly known as Prince" vibes or "Tom-Riddle-He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named" vibes. Polymarket bet: how long will Twitter will hang on?

I feel like I found a cheat code today, and with Claude of all my little friends. I tried a reboot experiment on the compiler project I've been laboring over since March, and I got to a self-hosting foothold for both the imperative and the functional language in less than a day, and they seem sturdy. My bootstrap compiler is all of 855 lines of zig. I'm kind of shocked.

I now have rulings, ratifications, renderings, and verdicts. Claude is clearly judicious.

Sometimes it's the simple things. Grok timestamping messages is SUCH an obvious no-brainer and something I have thought was an obviously missing feature in Claude Code and Codex for months and months now. I just noticed it in Grok and thought, oh, how refreshing.
