I wonder if Java still is a good choice now it's future is unstable

Now Oracle has Java, IBM drops Java. If Java isn't dead by now, it will be within a year... Anyone wants a Java programmer?

The rumour goes Uniface was almost taken over by IBM. Can anyone confirm?
