“Israel’s apartheid system is turning the olive harvest into a season of horror for Palestinian families across the occupied West Bank.” This is the language the news media should be using, but it’s the exact language they avoid.
Once again, Israel’s apartheid system is turning the olive harvest into a season of horror for Palestinian families across the occupied West Bank. State-driven attacks by settlers on farmers that damage, destroy and steal crops, combined with Israeli military restrictions on access to groves, are causing immense suffering and economic loss for Palestinians. Israel has just blown up Palestinian homes, or what remained of them, in northern Gaza. Local displaced Palestinians report that the demolitions took place near a newly constructed Israeli military base inside Gaza.

Twelve soldiers + police showed up in Taybeh olive field to stop a single Palestinian olive farmer from harvesting a single tree. After harassing him for 30+ minutes, a car full of some sort of special police officers stormed in and violently arrested the journalist/activist @the_andrey_x. One of the arresting officers shoved me, then showed me his bloody elbow and said I did it to him. (So if they take me next, that’s probably their pretense.) Second and third videos are other angle of the shove (including it here to be safe). Fourth video is from just before—the major military operation to stop a farmer from picking olives. Fascist state.

“Amid the ongoing loss, the perpetual deferral of mourning, the endless bereavement of space, of heritage, of beloveds, Palestinians live time and space differently. They carry the memories of all that is now rubble. They take the long view. They recognize how narration works. They understand that 'the passive voice and the targeting system … both leave the object, the body, the home, the family, hung alone in the sentence.' They return to their destroyed lands, tend to the vines that survived, harvest fruit. They recover rare manuscripts, handwritten documents, copies of the Quran and historical works from the devastated Omari Mosque library. And they know the truth.” @shereneseikaly From the latest issue of the Journal of Palestine Studies, coming soon.

Israeli soldiers stationed on high platforms are now firing bullets toward the tents of displaced people. Listen to the sound of the bullets reaching the tents in the camp where we live. Please stop this crime. These tents are filled with innocent people who are still struggling to survive after three years of genocide.

Horrific. Israel has shut down the borders which carries an impending danger on millions of people stranded in the occupied territory. And it’s not making enough noise around the world.
The markets are completely empty of vegetables and fruit. There is danger ahead.

There is a large number of newborns in Gaza being born without limbs and with many congenital deformities. These are the results of the phosphorus bombs and other bombs whose nature we do not know, which Israel used against the Palestinians in Gaza. We have seen every type of bomb raining down on us. This is another face of the genocide.

Israeli settlers, living on stolen Palestinian land, attacked 2 Palestinian Americans in the West Bank— the US government is doing nothing to protect them. The US must stop putting its relationship with a genocidal apartheid state over the safety of its own citizens.
It's olive harvesting season in the occupied West Bank, but for Israeli soldiers and settlers, "it's business as usual" — or, in other words, says @infinite_jaz, "relentless brutalization" and "state-backed settler terrorism."

🚨 BREAKING: Half a million Palestinians in Gaza will lose monthly food assistance as funding shortages force major World Food Programme cuts ahead of winter, ABC News Australia reports. ➤ WFP is reducing its monthly reach from 1.6 million people to 1.1 million. Families receiving two food parcels will now get one, and flour bags will shrink. ➤ Daily hot meals have fallen from 250,000 to 150,000. Some families in hard-to-reach areas will receive meals every other day instead of daily. Cash assistance for 75,000 families is being cut by 40%. ➤ WFP’s Carl Skau said traditional donors, including the U.S. and Europe, have reduced funding. “It’s not because the needs are down … it’s only due to the lack of funding,” Skau told ABC. ➤ Around 1.4 million people face crisis-level hunger or worse, including 200,000 in emergency conditions. WFP says it urgently needs $450 million for six months of operations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

Trump has announced over $20 billion in weapons to Israel since taking office. He looks the other way when US citizens are killed by Israeli settlers or soldiers, and refuses to investigate. He followed Israel into a disastrous war that has cost every US household at least $2,000 and has no end in sight. He retaliates against US allies when they follow international law by holding Israel and Netanyahu accountable to the law. At every turn, he prioritizes what’s best for Netanyahu’s reelection over what benefits the American people he is supposed to represent.

I tell myself every day: Don’t die. Don’t get tired. Check on the children. Look for water. Check if there are any holes in the tent so the water doesn’t leak in. Then stand up — don’t die. Don’t you dare die from some silly illness. Resist. Save your tears for a more painful day. Don’t you dare say, “I’m tired.” Look for food. Don’t be afraid of the bombing. Gather your things and flee. Set up a tent. Flee again — don’t get tired. Write, and then write, and then write. Write your own death with your own hands — don’t let anyone write about you. Live, and don’t die.
