No one is better at creating pressure by rushing 4 than @Coach_BHaines challenge is figuring out what 4 are coming and who is dropping.
Meanwhile… the coverage picture changes post snap. Slows down the QBs processing giving even more time for the rush to get home.
What an opportunity for Nebraska football this weekend! Blueblood program that’s faced some tough years… finally has the roster and coaching staff to compete at a high level, but facing one of the biggest tests in college football with IU coming to town.
DC Rob Aurich, Anthony Colandrea, and the OL/DL have transformed this team, but facing Indiana you need more than that.
IU does not beat themselves. Ever. Nebraska *cannot* beat themselves (also can’t play timid) penalties, TOs, mental mistakes, tackling etc. Don’t beat yourself and this is a competitive game into the late 4Q
Been thinking more and more about where Michigan is at. Certainly feels like a pressure cooker and a fork in the road. Can point fingers and throw in the towel or every player and coach can say “I haven’t been good enough. I will do whatever it takes to be better.” Which is what I’m confident they will be doing.
Part of the frustration is also the saving grace- which is to say this is not unfixable. It is not a lack of talent or want to. The frustration comes from the gap of potential compared to current production. No way in hell should this team be 100th in rushing in the FBS.
So as challenging and hostile as it’s been recently… using the bye to reset. Everyone taking accountability out of love and respect for one another. And working hard to find the solutions with humility can lead to a totally different product on the other side.
Not saying this is what will happen. Just saying it can be fixed, I’m confident that this is the approach that will be taken, and for the team’s sake I am hopeful it leads to an improved and more consistent offensive product.

Minnesota film is as disappointing as you’ll find. It’s a hodge podge of poor play calls, poor execution, mental errors, lack of effort, lack of awareness, poor communication and identification, players playing slow.. seemingly from not being aware/ confident of their assignment, then you see pressing. Just saying “screw it… let me try this”
Just really bad football. Defense once again showing their talent and potential. Kept the game close. But really never had a chance with the play of the offense.
The answer? I have no idea. Not an easy fix.
Bc the edge defender is a force of nature and their best overall defender and leaving him unblocked read side is not smart at all. Hogan has zero chance
Back to back interceptions.
What in the actual 🤬is going on?
The edge defender isn’t blocked.
Why isn’t the edge defender blocked?
Hogan *should* block him.
He thinks about blocking him, but he doesn’t block him.
Does this play actually work in practice? Do they tell the Demo defender to “run at the QB as fast as you can and let’s see if we can block you”.
You know, just in case.
By no means was the OL play great. I see some commentary about them not driving off the ball… which is fair and true to an extent. But I think it’s a product of wider disfunction.
Bc there’s no downfield threat. The DL can tee off on the snap. You’d need to do the same on offense but it’s risky if there’s any movement or pressure. So any little hesitation and you’re losing.
Not sure this will be an easy fix.
NEW: Oregon's Dan Lanning said UCLA head coach Bob Chesney offered to help with Dante Moore:
"He text me as they were traveling back to LA and said, 'Hey, if you need my help with Dante or anything and he's still in LA, I'll go check on this guy. I'm giving the team off tomorrow; let me know.' It speaks to the kind of person he is."

Watching the Iowa michigan game back is quite the experience. If you rolled the tape silently, you would never believe Iowa won that game.
Bryce played by far his best game. Big time throws and looked in control. Off Line had probably their best day. Michigan Def was totally dominant.
But that’s always the challenge playing Iowa. Their style of play, discipline, clock management coaching decisions, and special teams all play major factors and did in yesterday’s game.
Kirk Ferentz is an all time legend. This was a huge win for him and his team and they did it playing classic Iowa football. All the credit in the world to the Hawkeyes for never quitting and finding a way to get it done
A total baller and game changer. Took the game over nearly by himself! TE lead the way

I continually come back to the world “bully” when describing the Def. UTEP has a dual threat QB and playmakers with speed on the outside. Another test for the UM def this Saturday
"They're gonna take your lunch money, and they don't care about after-school detention."

NEW: @Jbooty88 is on the call for Saturday's game vs. UTEP. He told @TheWolverineOn3 he loved last week's response, but it can't stop there.
"There's nothing about that [OU] game that I would say is indicative of where Michigan wants to be offensively."

How did @UMichFootball take a HUGE step in Week 2 to beat Oklahoma? 👀
@Jbooty88 shows what you might have missed on first watch with his breakdown 📽️
Credit to Whittingham and Beck. The gameplan started it all. It allowed Bryce to play confident which was extremely important coming off a challenging week 1. The entire day I felt Bryce played with an urgency and emotion representative of a leader. The team fed off it.
"He is a true dual-threat athlete, and every time Bryce ran, you could feel his confidence grow. That’s why he has a C on his chest."

Extremely impressive defensive tape last week for michigan. They were sharks who smelled blood in the water and hunted their opponent all game long. That defense can keep michigan in every game
“The way the defense played, they flashed on tape. I mean, they played bully football. They were completely dominating the Oklahoma offensive line.”
