45Z is a renewable fuels tax credit designed to promote lower carbon fuels. 🌱 ⛽ But its impact reaches far beyond the fuel tank. 45Z connects regenerative agriculture practices to ethanol production. The 45Z low carbon farming practices (like cover crops, reduced-till and improved nutrient management) are the same farming techniques used to improve Iowa’s water quality. 💧 As IRFA Executive Director Monte Shaw puts it, “Section 45Z will be the biggest clean-water program in the history of the United States government.” One renewable fuels tax credit.
