I-CORE is INTERPOL's programme to modernize the digital capabilities behind international police cooperation. It is based on member country needs and operational realities.
At its latest working group meeting, hosted with INTERPOL's National Central Bureau in Seoul 🇰🇷, representatives from 14 member countries reviewed the programme’s most recent developments, including:
🔵 The Biometric Hub, INTERPOL’s central biometric matching and storage system
🔵 NEXUS, the next-generation platform for international police case messaging
🔵 The INTERPOL Unified Information Model, standardizing how police information is managed
Participants shared operational results from the field and joined workshops developing ideas for capturing member-country feedback across the full range of policing services, ensuring future capability developments match real demand.
❤️ Imagine this. You’ve been chatting to someone for months online and you’ve built a real relationship. You’re falling in love.
You’ve heard of scams like this, so you ask them for photos and videos. They are who they say they are. You’ve seen the proof.
But what if they aren’t?
Scammers can spend months building relationships with their victims. Meanwhile, AI technology can now recreate faces and voices using just a few images or audio clips found online.
So what should you do?
🔵 Seeing is not always believing: Images and videos can be faked. Be especially wary if a conversation with someone you met online leads to requests for personal information or money.
🔵 Don’t rush. Even if you believe you’re speaking to someone you trust, take a moment to assess the situation.
🔵 Report it. If you suspect a scam, contact local law enforcement immediately.

Counterfeit, substandard or mislabeled products threaten every sector. Far beyond copyright violations, they undermine legitimate businesses, weaken local economies, damage the environment and put lives at risk.
At this week’s 19th International Law Enforcement IP Crime Conference, more than 450 delegates from 52 countries and 255 organizations are sharing expertise across panels and workshops focused on protecting the public and disrupting the transnational organized crime groups behind this illicit trade.
🤝 From regional action to global impact, partnership is key.
The #IPCrimeConference is co-hosted by INTERPOL and the Royal Thai Police, in partnership with UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE), and is delivered by the INTERPOL Global Academy through its International IP Crime Investigators College (IIPCIC).
The INTERPOL Match‑Fixing Task Force is an active operational network that brings the key players together: law enforcement, public authorities, sports federations, anti-doping organizations and betting monitoring services.
The main objective is to move information and expertise to where it's needed, and support real investigations across borders to tackle match-fixing and corruption in every sport, at every level.
This week, that cooperation is in action in Portugal, where more than 200 participants from over 60 member countries have gathered to strengthen it further.
Through shared best practices and critical case coordination meetings, the IMFTF will ensure it maintains pressure on the organized crime groups behind competition manipulation.

Imagine this. Your daughter is travelling abroad for the first time on her own. You’re proud, but of course a little worried.
One day she calls, sobbing. She’s been robbed. She’s stuck and needs money now. It’s definitely her. You’d know her voice anywhere.
🛑 But what if it isn’t?
AI-facilitated scams are becoming more frequent - and more convincing - every day. Scammers can impersonate friends and family, preying on emotions and creating a false sense of urgency to make you act quickly.
So what should you do? Slow down, double-check information and shield what matters most with added security like safewords and two-factor authentication.

Imagine this. Your boss calls and asks for your help. It’s urgent. It’s definitely him: you can see and hear him clearly.
But what if it isn’t? Deepfake technology has evolved rapidly. AI can now replicate real faces, voices and behaviours using just a few photos, videos or audio clips found online.
The threat extends beyond the workplace; scammers can impersonate friends and family, preying on emotion and creating a false sense of urgency to make you act quickly.
So what should you do?
🔵 Don’t rush. Even if you believe you’re speaking to someone you trust, take a moment to assess the situation.
🔵 Verify. Hang up and call the person back on their usual number.
🔵 Use a safeword. Establish a secret phrase with close contacts.
🔵 Secure your accounts. Turn on two-factor authentication everywhere. Activate multi-step verification for large business transactions.
🔵 Report it. If you suspect a scam, contact local law enforcement immediately.
🔵 Train your teams. Business owners: make sure your staff are trained to recognise phishing, vishing and other social engineering tactics.

🚨 95 arrests across 17 countries in operation targeting the distribution of child sexual abuse material
The arrests have come as part of parallel law enforcement operations in Latin America and Europe, each targeting a different aspect of the dissemination and commercialization of child sexual abuse content through messaging applications and cryptocurrencies.
These platforms are increasingly used to groom children, coordinate abuse, connect offenders and receive payment for illegal content. They also enable the recirculation of abuse content, resulting in continued revictimization of children.
The INTERPOL-coordinated initiative led to the execution of 127 search warrants and the rescue of one child. Material seized during the investigation is expected to lead to further identifications of offenders and children at risk, as well as additional safeguarding action.
