We connected Kenyan artisan leaders with buyers and designers in the Republic of Korea to open doors to global markets!
Representing over 800 artisans from refugee and host communities in Turkana County, four women leaders travelled to Seoul for direct market feedback, design workshops, and trade connections to adapt their traditional craftsmanship for international buyers.

At the Global Technical Forum in Tashkent, ITC’s Mondher Mimouni highlighted what it takes to turn natural endowments into value-added production and more diverse exports: better diagnostics, trade facilitation and targeted infrastructure.

📈 Trade in AI-enabling goods grew 123% between Q1 2023 and Q2 2026, far outpacing overall merchandise trade (+29%). Yet participation remains highly uneven: Africa accounts for only around 0.2% of global exports, while least developed countries account for just 0.03%.
The latest ITC Trade Briefs Spotlight examines who supplies these goods and how their exports are evolving.
