Perhaps Labour will seek a private audience with Tommy Robinson, so they can consult him on racism and Islamophobia?

The proposed ban on puberty blockers for young trans people is very concerning. Labour's manifesto promised to "remove indignities for trans people who deserve recognition & acceptance" -this entails ending the ban on puberty blockers. I will always stand with trans youth.

Sorry @AngelaRayner but the person you defended does not support trans rights. In fact she has posted another tweet today bullying me, misgendering me and twisting my words to suit her hateful narrative. About the 6th tweet in a few weeks. 1/2

So my reply to @wesstreeting today isn't easy to read as a thread - so here it is redone properly (and with the right amount of posts)...

I’ve met young people who’ve been prescribed puberty blockers. Some told me they’d helped lift them from depression & probably saved their life. A blanket ban is wrong & not what Cass recommended. Careful, clinical provision is the way forward, not this politicisation.

Trans people need to be able to exist safely as themselves with respect & dignity, and with equal access to adequately funded healthcare. I support & stand in solidarity with the trans community —including young trans people — for whom puberty blockers are a life-saving measure.

If Labour's priority was protecting children they'd be scrapping the two child benefit cap, not banning medication for trans kids.

92% of trans young people have thought about taking their own life, and 45% have tried. Access to hormone blockers has been shown to reduce mental ill health for trans people. Gender affirming care saves lives. A ban on puberty blockers for under 18s is wrong.

Wild. From the leader of the Good Law Project in the United Kingdom... Telling transgender people to flee the country. The state of transgender rights in the United Kingdom is terrifying and growing moreso every day, as Labour has fully leaned into anti-trans sentiment.

Hey @wesstreeting, does JK Rowling think I should be taking my asthma tablets? Look forward to your reply xx
Hi @wesstreeting should I still be taking multiple daily hormone injections (insulin) to manage my Type 1 Diabetes? Have we checked what JK Rowling thinks? Best wishes.

Labour's manifesto promised to "remove indignities for trans people who deserve recognition & acceptance". That entails ending the Tories' ban on puberty blockers. Young people – cis & trans – must have access to healthcare they need. I'll always stand with the trans community.

hi @wesstreeting, I have epilepsy and the medication I take every morning and night keeps me from having potentially fatal seizures, or at least that’s what multiple specialists have told me. we forgot to check with JK Rowling though, could you ask her and get back to me? xx

I see @LGBTLabour haven’t tweeted for a couple of days. Silence is complicity. Their pinned tweet is about the repeal of Section 28. You know when @UKLabour did the right thing by our community despite a wall of bigotry. So far silence on @wesstreeting is deafening.

Every single Labour MP who claims to be an LGBTQ+ ally should be out speaking against the Wes Streeting ban on puberty blockers. No excuses.

I’m deeply concerned at news that Wes Streeting is considering making the ban on puberty blockers permanent. Sensitive healthcare decisions are profoundly personal and are best taken on an individual basis with appropriate professional support - not by the health secretary.

This morning I wrote to my MP, the Leader of the House of Commons, re @wesstreeting breaking precedent and politically intervening in established medical practice. Puberty blockers are safe, effective and offer trans children options and time.
