A huge thank you to Baroness @GreenJennyJones, for coming to the @GreensOfColour AGM today, to talk about how she got into politics, the types of racism her Welsh father faced in London and how working class people can get into the politics. An inspiration to so many!

Really powerful talk from @SoniaWinifred at the @GreensOfColour AGM today about the work she has done for her community and very sad to hear horrible treatment she faced by her local Labour party! Absolute power in her voice, we need more voices like this.

“That’s what I’m talking about with the closing of the coal mines, because there was nothing there to replace it where do these people go? “If there was something straight away to say ‘you’re gonna move into this job and transfer your skills’ then people’s life chances would have been vastly improved. “That’s what a lot of political parties have lacked, a voice that makes sure those interests are represented. “That’s why I’ve stepped up, because I think if we don’t represent that voice we’re losing and ignoring a massive chunk of society.” thestar.co.uk/news/politics/…

Remembering the victims of Hiroshima killed by the US in an instant, 80 years ago today. #Hiroshima80

80 years ago, 250,000 people were obliterated when the US dropped the atom bomb on Hiroshima, then Nagasaki. @MothinAli asks what have we learned from history? As we hold them in our hearts, may their deaths not be in vain, and as humanity we stand against nuclear arms.
Today, 6th August 1945, the US dropped the bomb on Hiroshima, then on Nagasaki on the 9th August 1945. We have to learn from history! We can never repeat these tragedies. We can never repeat these horrors. Now more than ever, we need more energy into the campaign for nuclear disarmament ☮️ #hiroshima #nagasaki

Many of us of Global South heritage here in the UK, have family who lived, even died under Japanese Occupation during WW2. Still, we stand against the horrors of the atom bombs and in solidarity with Japanese survivors and families. #Hiroshima80
