ALT This is a statement on behalf of the GFSN in response to the abandonment of the use of the OneLove armband. We are extremely disappointed with the decision of the Football Association’s of England and Wales to abandon the use of the OneLove armband during the Qatar 2022 World Cup after receiving pressure from FIFA. The OneLove armband was supposed to be a show of solidarity against oppression during this World Cup. We will never back down to any form of hate or be forced into silence. We will always be visible for our members and support all LGBTQ+ people around the world - no matter what. LGBTQ+ people exist in football. We believe visibility is more important now than ever before. We believe that Football is for all.
