The Fraser Health public board meeting scheduled in New Westminster tomorrow has been postponed due to the upcoming provincial election.
During the provincial election and interregnum period, the government is in caretaker mode and health authority communications are limited to critical health and public safety information.
We will share a new meeting date with you once available. Thank you for your understanding
Planning is underway to improve and expand Burnaby Hospital’s emergency department and surgical unit.
The improvements will include additional emergency treatment spaces, upgraded operating rooms and expanded areas for patients preparing for and recovering from surgery.
Together, these changes will create more modern spaces for patients while better supporting the staff and medical staff who care for them every day.

Construction has started on a new mental health and substance use treatment facility in Surrey.
Expected to open in 2028, the facility will provide 60 new beds and a range of specialized services to support people with complex mental health and addiction care needs.
