👍Foundation has been able to continue growing thanks to funding partners - In particular, Wells Fargo. We received $15 million in Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) equity from Wells Fargo to build Burleson Studios. They sponsored additional funding through FHLB Dallas.

At our Ribbon Cutting for Burleson Studios, Austin's Mayor Pro Tem Jose "Chito" Vela had kind words for area leaders who used federal funding they received to create housing. He was also very complimentary of Foundation Communities and others who made Burleson Studios a reality.

A huge contributor to the construction of Burleson Studios was Travis County, which provided $12 million it received through the ARPA economic stimulus package. At our Ribbon Cutting event, Travis County Executive Pilar Sanchez explained why this was important to county leaders.

Before any construction could begin on our newest supportive community, Burleson Studios, area leaders had to work to gain approval for a tax exemption. One of those who worked hard for that was State Rep. Lulu Flores. We were honored to have her speak at our Ribbon Cutting.

👷‍♂️Workers are busy getting our new Prosper Center North main building ready for Open Enrollment in November. Meanwhile, we are also working to honor the history of the previous owner, St. Mark UMC. Austin Cut Glass began installing stained glass from the church into windows.

👏This week, we said farewell to Jackie Cuellar, our Director of Corporate and Volunteer Engagement. In her 20 years with Foundation Communities, Jackie took us from one volunteer program to 10, managing thousands of volunteers and fundraising campaigns. Thank you, Jackie!

September is #HungerActionMonth, but at Foundation Communities, our Healthy Food Pantry program fights food insecurity for our neighbors in the Austin area year round. This program is open to the public, and as you'll see in this video, visitors say it's a pleasant experience!
