San Jose-based Archer Aviation has created an electric air taxi, and it was out in Oakland performing test flights. trib.al/5sYlatY
Over the past week, Midnight made its way from Salinas to Oakland through progressively larger cities with more complex airspace, then completed multiple piloted flights over the San Francisco Bay. The goal: show our electric air taxi can operate seamlessly in the complex airspace around San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose's international airports. Mission accomplished.
That’s a wrap on the Northern California leg of the "No Roads" Flight Tour. Los Angeles is up next.

Four cities. One day. No traffic.
Midnight has arrived in Oakland and is ready to take to the skies of the San Francisco Bay, the headliner stop on the Northern California leg of our “No Roads” Flight Tour.
Bay Areaaaa, you’re up.
Mountain View → Hayward ✅
Midnight has entered the East Bay. No tolls, no traffic. Just epic views and another city added to the “No Roads” Flight Tour.
This flight over Silicon Valley goes out to the legends who made this the place where big ideas take off.
Midnight just touched down at Moffett Federal Airfield in Mountain View. Another stop on the “No Roads” Flight Tour is in the books as we get closer to the headliner over the San Francisco Bay.
There’s a version of this trip from San Martin to San Jose that involves a freeway. This isn’t that one.
Midnight completed its 3rd flight of the day landing in San Jose before sundown where it'll stay the night before resuming its journey to Oakland tomorrow on the "No Roads" flight tour.
On our way to the Bay.
The "No Roads" flight tour began its journey North today with Midnight flying into the San Martin Airport from Hollister. Next stop, San Jose.

Advancing Midnight’s Certification in the UAE 🇦🇪
We recently welcomed back the UAE’s regulator, the @gcaauae, to our headquarters for a week+ of intensive workshops and review sessions. This visit continues a regular cadence of engagements between our teams as we work toward certifying Midnight in the country. The GCAA delegation was led by Eng. Aqeel Al Zarooni, Assistant Director General for Aviation Safety Affairs, and included senior members of its Flight Operations and Airworthiness teams.
We look forward to our continued partnership with the GCAA as we work together to bring electric air taxis to the UAE.
🎥 Tour diary: Salinas.
Every tour has a stop that just feels different. For Midnight, that was this past weekend flying for the crowd in Salinas - the airport that's played home to our flight test program for the past several years.
For the second year running, Midnight took to the sky at the California International Air Show, sharing the bill with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, Goulian Aerosports, and a lineup of icons including the MiG-17, T-33, and A-37 Dragonfly. Hundreds of Archer team members turned out to enjoy the show with the community that's been with us from day one.
The "No Roads" Flight Tour continues to San Jose, Oakland, San Francisco, Los Angeles and beyond.
That’s a wrap on Midnight’s hometown performance at this year’s @Salinas_Airshow.
The HSR Act waiting period for our acquisition of @Boeing's @WiskAero, @Insitu_Inc, and @skygridai businesses has expired. This satisfies a key condition to closing the transaction. Completion of the transaction remains subject to the satisfaction or waiver of other customary closing conditions, including receipt of certain other regulatory approvals, which are underway.
The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026 and is set to create an end-to-end physical AI platform for aerospace and defense, combining Wisk, Insitu and SkyGrid’s pioneering autonomy, electric vertical take off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and airspace intelligence technologies with Archer’s product suite and leading purpose-built AI foundation model, ZEE.

This weekend, Midnight returns to the California International Air Show for the second year running, flying in an epic lineup that includes the @usairforce's Thunderbirds, Goulian Aerosports, and other iconic aircraft like the MiG-17, T-33, and A-37 Dragonfly.
Hundreds of Archer team members from engineering, operations, and flight test are expected on site each day to celebrate with the community. Archer Technical Blog: How ZEE Helps Pilots and Controllers Safely Decode the Airspace
Radio miscommunication errors are a contributing factor in a majority of reported aviation safety incidents, and on complex clearances, pilots misread instructions back roughly 1 in 4 times. That's a safety problem. We designed ZEE to help fix it.
ZEE, our foundation AI model purpose-built for aviation, has a proprietary speech engine that turns radio comms into a real-time, structured and accurate transcript to help pilots and controllers avoid miscommunications. It's 84% more accurate than general speech models in the aviation domain and runs fully offline and on device.
Built to understand the whole airspace — ADS-B, ATC comms, flight plans, weather reports and NOTAMs — decoding Air Traffic Control communications is just one of ZEE's capabilities.
