Faithful stewardship is not a one-time decision but an ongoing responsibility. Like tending a garden, managing investments requires setting goals, nurturing strong investments, pruning when necessary, and making adjustments as circumstances change.

Faithful stewardship means recognizing that everything we have belongs to God. From the work we do to the money we earn and the investments we manage, we are called to serve Him wherever He has placed us and honor Him with everything He has entrusted to us.

The American Dream is often measured by the things we hope to achieve, from owning a home and raising a family to preparing for retirement. But is the American Dream really about accumulating possessions, or is it about living within your means, managing what God has entrusted to you, and finding contentment?

Prediction markets are increasingly being presented as an alternative to investing, but are they really investing? Understanding the difference between investing and gambling comes down to strategy, measurable data, risk, and how wealth is built over time. Biblical stewardship calls us to build wealth patiently rather than pursue quick gains through gambling.

For more than seventy years, The Chronicles of Narnia has introduced children around the world to the gospel story through myth and adventure. At the center of that story is Aslan, the great Lion who gives his life to save Narnia and rises again to defeat evil. C.S. Lewis wrote Aslan as an illustration of Jesus Christ. Netflix’s reported reimagining of the character has raised serious concerns among Christians who believe the Christ-figure Lewis created should be treated with the integrity it deserves. This concern, along with Netflix’s broader content, corporate advocacy, and financial support for organizations and causes that conflict with a biblical worldview, is why we created a petition calling on Netflix to reconsider these choices and treat works important to people of faith with the integrity they deserve. Christians have the freedom to decide what companies they will support with their money and investments. That includes taking a closer look at what may be held through a 401(k), index fund, or other investment account. If you believe we should have a voice in what companies do with their resources and what our money supports, we encourage you to sign the petition and take action at defundnetflix.com.

From C.S. Lewis and The Chronicles of Narnia to the broader culture around us, the Christian worldview has shaped some of the most influential art and literature in history. Dr. @AlexMcFarland discusses what happens when biblical truth becomes uncomfortable and there is a desire to revise or reshape it rather than accept it. The question is whether we will stand on the truth or allow culture to redefine it.

Before investing in a company, it is important to look beyond whether the stock might go up. A disciplined investment process asks four basic questions: Should we own it? Is the business getting stronger? Does it have the financial strength to endure difficult times? And is the business worth the price? These questions provide a starting point for evaluating a potential investment while keeping stewardship at the center of the decision.

Lifestyle creep can happen when we begin comparing what we have to what everyone around us has. Instead of recognizing what God has already provided, we can start believing we need more to be satisfied or keep up with others. Biblical stewardship calls us to make wise choices, count our blessings, and become content with what God has entrusted to us.

As we come to the close of another fiscal year, we want to say thank you to everyone who has prayed for FISM, listened to the program, shared what you have learned, supported our work, and encouraged us to keep going. Your faithfulness makes it possible for this ministry to continue. This year, we have seen God open new doors. Mark stepped into the host role for Financial Issues, we launched Stewardship Today, and we continued expanding our resources, strengthening our website and Partner tools, and looking for ways to reach more Christians with the message that our finances and investments are part of our calling to faithfully steward what God has entrusted to us. We may never know where a faithful act of stewardship will lead. But God does. As our fiscal year comes to a close on September 30, would you consider making a year-end gift to help FISM continue this work and create ripples that reach far beyond what we can see? Help the work continue at financialissues.org.
