An excellent discussion with the leadership of the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research: How can a country of 33 million people fulfil its social, environmental, and economic potential and ensure its future is not the byproduct of other nations’ choices?

Winning With AI – Lessons From the 5% Registration: bit.ly/4e8x6ZP

Walk the streets of Malaysia, Hong Kong, or China. Then explain AI's abundant future to people whose identity is built around work - not leisure. That disconnection is the real AI challenge. #FutureOfWork #ExponentialChange

We struggle to govern ourselves globally. Why are we building systems designed to exceed human cognitive control? That question deserves a serious answer before the next capability leap. #AILeadership #DisruptionRisk

Billions were raised on a simple compact: learn, earn, take responsibility. An AI-driven UBI future - however abundant - wasn't part of that deal. Leaders need to understand that. #AIWorkforceStrategy #FutureOfWork

Just because we can build AGI doesn't mean we should. The AI industry has never adequately answered the "why" - and that gap will matter more than any capability milestone. #StrategicForesight #TechnologyDisruption

Most AI strategy is built by the people creating the technology - not by the billions who will live with its consequences. That gap is not a comms problem. It is a legitimacy problem. #FutureOfWork #AILeadership

Last week of my Asia tour: Hong Kong. New connections, well received speeches, and a lot of unexpected but highly productive meetings. A fantastic and joyfully knackering trip taking in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore. Back Saturday! #HongKong #Asia #SpeakerLife

For those whose s*** don't stink? I have a fascination with bathroom and toilet signs from around the world - go ahead, judge me 🤣 More from this trip to follow. #Travel #SpeakerLife

A wonderful afternoon visiting St Francis University and exploring how we can collaborate on foresight research and programmes. I have high hopes :) #Foresight #HigherEducation #University

Spent the afternoon at Huawei in Shenzhen. R&D is 21% of turnover, 53% of staff. Highlights: genetic computing, movie-projecting headlights, and a $150k car with 43 speakers, gesture doors, AR display and a mode that wakes you up if you fall asleep driving. #Huawei #AI #China

Popped over from Hong Kong to Shenzhen for the afternoon to see Huawei's latest tech innovations. They've spent over US$50Bn developing AI - embedded across everything from mobile handsets to data centres and cars. #Huawei #AI #China

4 hours KL to Hong Kong. Flight cost £6.23 🤣 Empty emergency row. Baggage 700g under the 32kg limit - 10kg of which are gifts and people's books. Not sure it gets any better than this. #SpeakerLife #Travel

The Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia got passionate talking about India's modernisation plans, then asked for a selfie after I gave him our books. Said he'd send it to the British High Commissioner to make him jealous 🤣

Loved speaking at the Singapore Mentoring Committee this morning. Business leaders walk with students for 90 mins, 3 rounds of pairings. First time they've had more mentors than mentees - turns out exam season hit the students hard 🤣 #Singapore #Mentoring #SMU

Sights on tour. Staying at a crazily cheap 5-star hotel near the Network School in Forest City 🤣 Sharing it with a huge Indian golfing party — happy, tightly knit, vibrant. Reminded me of the big family warmth I miss from childhood. ❤️ #NetworkedState #Travel
