fplreview.com is back for the 2026/27 season!
A lot of work has gone into the new interface, but hopefully it feels like it has retained much of its original DNA
- Redesigned interface & improved mobile UX
- Upgraded solver features
- Detailed player customisation
- Team strength customisation
- Ability to upload & blend/ensemble custom models fully supported
- Massive Data model update + adoption of new BPS rules
- Enables greater development capabilities in the long term
A few smaller updates added over the past week or so
- Page load should be much snappier (especially on mobile)
- WC/FH diversity added as a solver setting
- Arrows keys can control both GW (←→) and draft (↑↓) selection in planner
- Solver gain/loss in evaluation score now displayed
- Significant backend upgrade
Also worked through a number of the remaining issues during the IB, eg. for synced selected the 'my team' in the prices changes view needed to be updated
If you have any feedback/bug reports, please continue to use the Google Form => forms.gle/J4Abazucqh7nsWXH7
That form is anonymous, so if you need direct support the best route is email
A significant optimisation upgrade has made it's way into the fplreview solver!
The fuller, non-linear model of the FPL problem has been sufficiently linearised, effectively merging the old Transfer Solver and Linear Optimiser
This has enabled faster solves, richer evaluation and all new & existing features/improvements will be shared by both solve modes
This is an important step, as it means future development does not need to repeated across two complex projects for any changes
12 months ago, the level of ongoing maintenance and duplicated complexity had brought me extremely close closing the site as it sucked a lot of the fun out of it, fortunately the concept of unifying both solvers has rescued this
This has been a major project that has hogged much of my dev time and sleep, so looking forward to a slightly more normal life now that it's released😂
Finally, a reminder: you can directly view and edit player xMin distributions, which becomes more valuable now that the 'non-linear' concept is back
This can be accessed by clicking on the distribution icons beside the xMins inputs
Making numerical inputs, automatically adjusts these distributions based on the player defaults too
Forgot to mention on Thursday that you can now click on the price progress sparklines for an enlarged image
A few examples for players with notable market movement from todays matches
Elite 1000 GW5 Summary
- 9.3% used WC, 4.5% went FH
- 79% captained Haaland (99.9% of those who own him)
- 13% captained Bruno and 6% went with MGW
- Barry and MGW the main transfers in
- Joao Pedro, O'Reilly, Sangare, Szobo and Wirtz on the way out
- ~50% of non FH/WC managers rolled
- 1 of the 1000 has rolled their way up to 5FTs already
Price Bonus is now live on FPL Review as a solver setting!
This acts as an incentive to buy or sell players based on forecasted progress towards an SV change
Getting these market effects integrated into the solver is a significant step, something many of us had been estimating manually on top of solver outputs for years
This is currently a beta feature and is defaulted off, as it's quite a big change for many. You can default it on from the settings sidebar.
I appreciate this will be something quite new for many, and anticipate there will be many ideas floating around. There will definitely be scope to add and modify
For example, I expect there will be a third treatment for price progress/forecasts, to go along the standard and squared approach for weighting- possibly binary. I’d like to see how people use the setting and hear their feedback before progressing with that however.
Lastly some technical details for anyone who gets this far
For the reinvestment period, future transfer plans are considered highly speculative and reactive to random events. For this reason generalised approaches are used to estimate reinvestment period. Use of FT value also complicates literal interpretations
Also it is important to stress that "Pts / £1m / GW" is the marginal value added- rather than the average. In recent seasons this has been floating around 0.2 -0.4, while 7 years ago seemed to slightly higher
0.3 is used as a relatively conservative default- which can be edited, I may add an indicator to suggest the current estimate in future

Performed an analysis to determine the value of each extra £1M of Team Value using an optimisation script that caters for rotation, autosubs selection etc. over a 5 GW sample
Typically £1M is valued at ~0.6pts/GW, but this shows it is closer to 0.5-0.45pts/GW

My FPL Chrome Extension is now live! 🎉
The goal was simple:
➡️ Improve the FPL site, so that engaged managers want to use it for more than just locking in their team every week.

Elite 1000 GW4 Summary
- 43% played TC, 19% WC and 3% FH
- 95% went with Palmer as captain (99.6% of those that own him)
- Rogers, Palmer and Konsa were the most common transfers in
- Cherki, Bruno, Ndiaye, Mbeumo and Maguire to most common to make way
- 2 of the 1000 will have 4FTs available for the upcoming GW
WC5 template looks like
Raya/Kinsky
Konsa/Calafiori/Van Hecke/Hall/O'Shea
Palmer/Rogers/Szoboszlai/Groß/Saka
João Pedro/Barry/Haaland
A decent split with many key decisions, FPL pricing having some effect at this point of the season
