Over 40,000 retinal cells have been proofread in EyeWire II!
Each one is a tiny piece of the extraordinary neural circuitry that makes vision possible.

Congratulations to the citizen scientists who have now mapped over 10,000 cells in Eyewire II! This animation by @amyneurons shows ~1,000 bipolar cells.

Excited to share that there are a few Eyewire players who landed a Princeton summer internship!
Replying to @FlyWireNews
Thank you to all 163 students who applied for our summer internship. Congratulations to the 15 students representing 6 countries who landed a spot. Keep an eye out for their projects later this summer!

It took endless hours in the lab and a massive effort, but we're finally here: Eyewire II is officially out!
Huge thanks to our amazing co-authors and everyone else who supported us along the way. So grateful for the hard work—it’s been a privilege pushing through this together.
Meet Eyewire II: a new connectomic resource for the mouse retina.
~1 mm² of retina at nm resolution, with synapses and circuits of ca. 100,000 neurons + visual responses from the ~400 neurons shown in the video!

Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) recently announced that a first-of-its-kind $950,000 RPB Transformational Team Science Award has been made to the @eye_wire II project. According to Gregory Schwartz, PhD, Eyewire II will create an open-source data resource that will be available to the entire research field, with particular relevance to work in neuroscience and vision science.@NUFeinbergMed
