Our Head of Mission Ralf Schröder welcomed H.E. Mr Petr Kaván, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Iraq, for an introductory meeting in Baghdad. The meeting provided an opportunity to present EUAM Iraq's mandate and ongoing activities.

We delivered a two-day report-writing workshop for the National Centre for Joint Planning (NCJP), part of the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). The workshop strengthened participants’ practical skills in drafting clear, structured, and effective Government reports.

We delivered a Human Rights-Based Policing workshop at the Sulaymaniyah Police College in support of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Ministry of Interior, contributing to the development of a service-oriented police operating in accordance with international human rights standard.

We conducted a study visit to UNIDROIT in Rome, bringing together members of the Iraqi State Board of Antiquities and Heritage and seniors of the Iraqi Council of Representatives. The goal was to strengthen Iraq’s legal framework for the protection of cultural heritage.

EUAM Iraq facilitated the second Federal Iraq–KRI exchange on organised crime, bringing together law enforcement, judicial and victim-support actors to strengthen information sharing, investigations and coordination against organised crime and trafficking in human beings

EUAM Iraq was invited to attend the inaugural meeting of the newly formed SSR Support Committee at ONSA and to meet seven new members. The meeting served as an opportunity for mutual introductions and networking.

In Erbil and Sulaymaniyah, we engaged with relevant institutions working on the protection of cultural heritage. The outcome was strengthening cooperation between institutions in Kurdistan in order to support Iraq’s efforts to protect its rich cultural heritage.

@EuamIraq and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism launched an Open-Source Intelligence workshop to strengthen Iraqi law enforcement capabilities in digital investigations and artificial intelligence under the European Union-funded CT TECH+ initiative. @EU_FPI @UN_OCT

On the 94th anniversary of Iraq’s National Day, the European Union Advisory Mission in Iraq extends its warmest congratulations to the Iraqi people and reaffirms its enduring commitment to supporting Iraq’s efforts to strengthen security, stability and prosperity.

EUAM Iraq organised a France study visit for Iraqi officials from Baghdad & KRI, visiting the General Secretariat for Defence & National Security, Foreign Ministry Crisis Centre, Police, Gendarmerie & civil protection facilities exchanging experience on crisis management.

From European expertise to practical knowledge for Iraqi institutions. EUAM Iraq facilitated a study visit to Budapest where Iraqi law enforcement trainers explored European approaches to training design, teaching methods and border-management education.

Building on 8 roundtables, EUAM Iraq supported the first Cultural Heritage Protection Strategy roundtable. Under a Prime Minister Order, experts will draft Iraq’s first strategy over the next 6 months, with strategic advice from EUAM Iraq.

@EuamIraq Head of Mission Ralf Schröder met with Mr. Ammar Talib, Assistant Head of the Europe Department at the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss the Mission’s ongoing work in Iraq and its new mandate for the next two years.

EUAM Iraq and the International Institute for Justice and the Rule of Law jointly supported Iraqi authorities in strengthening Human Rights principles in counter-terrorism practices, with a focus on institutional accountability and compliance.

EUAM Iraq and the KRG Ministry of Interior held a Strategic Dialogue for senior police leaders in Erbil, attended by H.E. Minister Rebar Ahmed. The dialogue focused on strengthening leadership to drive police reform & advance service-oriented policing across KRG.

EUAM Iraq completed its second training programme on Service-Oriented Policing, supporting professional skills and the further development of community-focused policing practices within Iraqi security institutions.
