Ontario is growing. Its energy system must grow with it. At Tuesday’s @energyontario (OEA) Conference, our team joined leaders from across the sector to discuss how Ontario can meet rising demand while keeping energy reliable and affordable. Cara-Lynne Wade and Scott Nieboer helped lead Enbridge Gas’ contribution throughout the day. A central message was the need to plan electricity and natural gas together. Natural gas provides flexible, dependable energy that supports the electricity grid while continuing to serve homes, businesses and industry directly. Ontario’s existing natural gas network and storage capacity are strategic advantages. They provide a strong foundation for economic growth and help the energy system respond when demand is highest. Preparing for the future will require timely infrastructure investment and better coordination across the sector. Above all, it means keeping customers at the centre of energy planning and recognizing that affordability and reliability must advance together. Thank you to the OEA and the Association of Power Producers of Ontario for bringing these important conversations together. #OntarioEnergyConference #OntarioEnergy #NaturalGas #EnergyInfrastructure

Fall has entered the work zone. Across the communities we serve, Enbridge Gas trucks and equipment are getting one spectacular backdrop as the leaves turn in Ontario. The colours may be doing most of the showing off, but our teams are doing the work, safely maintaining our system and helping deliver the reliable energy our customers count on. And yes, we think the Enbridge Gas colours go very well with autumn orange. #EnbridgeGas #FallColours #EnergyInAction

September 30 is a day to listen, learn and reflect. On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never came home and recognize the families and communities who continue to carry the impacts of the residential school system. Enbridge Gas employees also mark Orange Shirt Day as a reminder that Every Child Matters and that reconciliation requires continued learning and action. #TruthAndReconciliation #EveryChildMatters #OrangeShirtDay #IndigenousAwareness

Our crews are making strong progress on the 2026 phase of the St. Laurent Pipeline Replacement Project in Ottawa. To date, more than 3.3 kilometres of 12-inch steel pipe has been installed, representing 60% of this year’s planned steel pipeline work. Crews have also completed 60% of the planned plastic pipeline installation, with more than one kilometre of plastic pipe now in place. That’s in addition to 20 new plastic natural gas service installations. Every new section of this pipeline is part of a larger investment in the energy future of the National Capital Region. Once complete, the St. Laurent Pipeline Replacement Project will replace 14.4 kilometres of natural gas pipeline, helping ensure the continued safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to approximately 168,000 homes, businesses and institutions every day. #Reliability #Infrastructure #Ottawa #EnergyMatters #EnbridgeGas #StLaurentPipeline #NaturalGas #ProjectUpdate

Summer pushes energy systems to work harder. Cooling systems run longer and energy use increases across communities. Reliable infrastructure continues delivering the support people depend on during periods of peak demand, helping maintain comfort, stability, and consistency when it matters most. Even as temperatures rise and activity increases, our systems keep working to meet the needs of growing communities. As demand reaches its highest point, reliability proves its value by supporting everyday life throughout the summer season. #ValueOfGas #PeakDemand #Reliability #Summer #Infrastructure #Communities #EnbridgeGas

When electricity demand rises, natural gas steps in. With a heat wave expected over the next few days, air conditioners across Ontario will be working overtime, driving up electricity demand. While many people associate natural gas with heating their homes in the winter, it also plays an important role during the summer. As demand increases, natural gas works alongside nuclear, hydro, wind and solar to generate the electricity that powers homes, businesses and essential services. The result is an energy system that can respond when demand is at its highest. Check back tomorrow as we explore how natural gas becomes electricity and the role it plays in keeping you comfortable, no matter the season. #Ontario #HeatWave #SummerHeat #NaturalGas #EnergyReliability #PoweringCommunities

When temperatures rise, comfort becomes critical. Extreme heat tests the systems people rely on every day and puts increased pressure on how homes operate. Natural gas remains a reliable energy source, generating electricity during the summer months and helping meet increased demand when it matters most. It helps families stay comfortable, keeps daily routines running smoothly, and supports the moments that matter most, even through prolonged periods of extreme heat. Reliability is not seasonal. It is proven during the toughest conditions, when performance matters most and consistency cannot be compromised. The value of natural gas is felt every day, especially when temperatures climb. #ValueofGas #Summer #NaturalGas #EnbridgeGas

Our team at the Parkway West Compressor Station in Milton recently welcomed Milton Fire and Rescue Services for a facility tour and emergency preparedness discussion. The visit gave local firefighters an opportunity to become familiar with the site, its operations and the safety measures in place to support an effective response should an emergency occur. During the tour, the team highlighted several of the station’s safety systems, including 11 dry-barrel fire hydrants located throughout the site. Firefighters also reviewed the station’s heat, smoke and flame detection systems, along with its CO₂ and foam-based fire suppression technologies. The Parkway West Compressor Station is a critical part of the transmission system that helps move natural gas from the Dawn Hub to customers across the Greater Toronto Area, Quebec and the northeastern United States, supporting the safe and reliable delivery of energy every day. #EnbridgeGas #SafetyFirst #EmergencyPreparedness #Milton #Ontario #EnergyInfrastructure

Our crews are back on site and hard at work on the 2026 phase of the St. Laurent Pipeline Replacement Project in Ottawa. Last year, more than 5.5 kilometres of steel pipeline and almost 5 kilometres of polyethylene pipeline was installed and energized. And 118 customers were safely connected to the newly upgraded natural gas distribution network. Once complete, this project will replace 14.4 kilometres of natural gas pipeline, ensuring the continued safe and reliable delivery of natural gas service to approximately 168,000 homes, businesses and institutions in the National Capital Region every day. It also means that our network is ready to meet the needs of a growing region, even during peak demand and extreme weather.
