Presenting: Elemental Carbon
Carbon is officially live on our main site!
One portfolio. Complete visibility.
We've rebuilt the Elemental experience around unified holdings, performance tracking, personalized quarterly reports, and a new generation of vaults.
Let's take a look.
1/
[ What's Next? ]
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our beta.
Your feedback has been instrumental in shaping Carbon into what it is today.
But we're far from finished.
We believe great products are built through continuous iteration, and that the little details make all the difference.
Keep the feedback coming. We'll keep building.
DeFi made simple.
Elemental gud tech.

[ V1 Site ]
Prefer the old interface? We've got you.
The original Elemental site remains accessible at:
v1.elemental.fund
We'll keep it running until the end of 2026, giving everyone plenty of time to get comfortable with Carbon.
No rush. Move at your own pace.
7/
[ Reports ]
In TradFi, portfolio reporting is standard. So why is it still so uncommon in DeFi?
Carbon introduces personalized quarterly reports covering:
• Portfolio value and performance
• Deposits and withdrawals
• Fund movements throughout the quarter
Proper reporting shouldn't be a luxury.
6/
[ Explore ]
Finding the right vault should be simple.
We've redesigned the Explore page to make comparing our vaults much easier.
Whether you prefer the flexibility of Elemental Lend, with instant deposits and redemptions, or our Fixed Rate vaults operating on 5 day epochs, everything is now easier to navigate.
5/
[ Schedule ]
One of our favorite quality-of-life upgrades.
Deposits queued? Check.
Unstaking in progress? Check.
Positions ready to claim? Check.
Everything that needs your attention is now conveniently organized in one place.
No more jumping between vaults just to figure out what's happening.
4/
[ Performance Tracking ]
Moved funds between vaults? No problem.
Carbon tracks your performance across your entire portfolio, even as your positions change.
Switch between different time frames and view your USD and SOL holdings separately.
Because 1 SOL = 1 SOL.
3/
[ Blended Yields ]
Deposited across multiple vaults? Smart. Diversification can help spread your risk instead of concentrating everything in one strategy.
Carbon now shows your blended yield across your entire portfolio, giving you a clearer picture of what your capital is actually earning.

Every investment carries risk, but this misses how ONyc actually absorbs losses.
There's no junior tranche in ONyc itself, but there is a loss absorption layer:
- Premium is paid to OnRe upfront and held in their reserve.
- This premium is broken up roughly into two halves:
a) into yields for users (that current 11% you see) and
b) into what it think might be the expected loss
- Claims within those expectations are paid out of that expected loss reserve (it does not touch NAV).
- OnRe has replayed real events against its book. Hurricane Ida, Typhoon Jebi and Storm Bernd all came out at zero net NAV impact.
- Hurricane Ian, the costliest US storms on record, came out at about 3.5% NAV drawdown.
tl;dr yes, holders carry the risk beyond what's expected, but it would take a major event to impact NAV
Disclosure: @elementaldefi works closely with OnRe
If you don't want to be actively monitoring the risks, Elemental created ENDAS (Elemental Natural Disaster Alert System) specifically for OnRe's books. This allows us to rapidly unwind positions into stables if we detect something that could be serious enough to move the needle.
I love Kamino, but I don't understand the hype around the ONYC loop.
ONYC earns yield via reinsurance, which is a directional strategy, and has no junior tranche to absorb losses before they hit holders.
Even a 2-3% loss could seriously hurt people looping ONYC at high leverage. OnRe team explicitly states that it won't cover reinsurance losses.
I think many ppl mistake ONYC for a low-risk, yield-bearing stablecoin. In reality, it's not a stablecoin, and reinsurance isn't a market-neutral strategy.
In my opinion, the risk of ONYC incurring losses is much higher than most people realize.
There are many much safer ways to earn 18%+ APY than by looping ONYC.

As ONyc expands across DeFi, so does the need for visibility into the strategies built around it.
@elementaldefi has updated its dashboard to show every strategy allocating to ONyc and earning OnRe Points, giving depositors a direct view of their OnRe exposure within Elemental's interface.
DFX claims are now live!
With safety in mind, we've set up the claims architecture to be conservative. Claims go through a faucet and we'll be topping it up over time as claims come through.
If you have a large claim and there isn't enough DFX tokens in the faucet, let us know and we'll make sure you're taken care of.

Elemental gud yields
Big shoutout to the @kamino team for working with us to upgrade our vaults!🤝
For our OGs, we shipped one more feature in Carbon just for you: MIGRATE.
As you may know, we introduced our V2 vault architecture some time ago. V2 represents us doubling down on transparency.
Every investment carries risk, and we believe depositors should be able to see clearly what strategy a vault uses, where capital is deployed, and what risks they are taking.
That means more choice, but more importantly, better clarity.
The highest yield is not always the best investment. High yields look great when everything is going well, but markets do not stay that way forever.
With MIGRATE, OG depositors can seamlessly move their positions from our legacy vaults into the newer V2 architecture and build their portfolio with a clearer understanding of both risk and reward.
1/
MIGRATE also significantly reduces the time it takes to move your funds.
With a manual transfer, you would first need to wait an entire epoch to unstake, earning no yield during that period. After that, you would need to queue for another epoch before entering the new vault.
With MIGRATE, we cut the entire process down to just one queued epoch.
Less waiting. Less idle capital. A much smoother move into V2.
2/
🚨 IMPORTANT:
Our V1 vaults will continue operating for now, but we plan to sunset all V1 vaults by the end of this year (31 December 2026) as we complete the transition.
As we gradually unwind positions within V1, we also expect yields on these vaults to decline over time.
We highly recommend using MIGRATE sooner rather than later so your capital can begin earning within the new vault architecture.

DeFi Made Simple has been our motto from day one.
That includes shaking off all the fluff!
Imagine...
A product with no referrals
A product with no KOLs
A product with no incentives
A product with no points / token
Just solid and secure yield with a lot of transparancy. For me that is @elementaldefi Go check them out.
Let me know what other product comes to mind.

This is what composability looks like beyond capital.
@elementaldefi built ENDAS around OnRe’s reinsurance portfolio, monitoring natural disaster risk to automatically manage jrONyc exposure.
A new layer of risk infrastructure, built by the ecosystem on top of ONyc.

[ ENDAS ]
Want to move further up the risk curve?
USDC E1 farms the junior tranche of solana:5Y8NV33Vv7WbnLfq3zBcKSdYPrk7g2KoiQoe7M2tcxp5 and currently offers the highest yield profile across our vaults.
But we did not want to simply add risk and call it a day.
So we built ENDAS: the Elemental Natural Disaster Alert System.
ENDAS was developed specifically around @onrefinance 's reinsurance portfolio and monitors natural-disaster risks representing more than 80% of its policies.
If an event becomes sufficiently credible, USDC E1 can automatically exit the junior tranche and move toward capital preservation while the catastrophe develops.
That does not make ENDAS a magic shield.
Earthquakes can occur with effectively no warning. Hurricanes can intensify extremely quickly. Not every solana:5Y8NV33Vv7WbnLfq3zBcKSdYPrk7g2KoiQoe7M2tcxp5 NAV drawdown can be anticipated or avoided.
The objective is simpler: on good days, farm good yields, on days where alerts are flashing, focus on capital protection.
Risk minimization > yield maximization.
