Export selected rows, loaded results or a whole table to CSV or JSON, hand big jobs to DynamoDB's own export to S3, and schedule regular exports to a folder that keep only the files you want.

Import a CSV or JSON file into an existing DynamoDB table: Dynobase checks every row's keys, previews the data, suggests a type for each column and lets you choose what happens to existing items.

Copy selected items to any loaded table, in another region or profile, with key mapping, skip or overwrite, and a preview.
Then create on-demand backups, restore them into a new table, and delete them safely.

Generate infrastructure code from an existing DynamoDB table: AWS CDK in TypeScript or Python, CloudFormation or Terraform, with keys, capacity, indexes, streams and TTL. Then turn a query into SDK code in nine languages.

Lay out a single-table design with real sample items before any table exists: key templates, entity types, global secondary indexes and named access patterns, then pre-fill the Create Table form.
Import NoSQL Workbench models or start from an example.

Search DynamoDB by meaning instead of exact values.
See how Dynobase reads your table's vector indexes, turns a text query into an embedding with Amazon Titan on Bedrock, finds similar items from the grid, and explains distance scores.

Dynobase has a built-in MCP server.
Switch it on in Settings, AI, copy the setup for Claude Code, Cursor or any MCP client, and your agent can list, describe, scan and query tables through the AWS profiles you already use.

Dynobase reads the AWS profiles you already have: SSO, assumed roles, MFA and credential processes.
See every table across every profile and region, jump anywhere with ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux), and open DynamoDB Local like any other profile.

Dynobase 3.0.8 is out on macOS, Windows and Linux 🎉
• Signed Windows installers are back, plus Linux AppImage/deb/rpm
• Selected rows are visible again
• Save Changes works after editing two cells of a row
• Dropdowns no longer hide behind dialogs

Inherited a table with no documentation?

hey, we're back
Dynobase was my first real product.
7 years ago I built a desktop app for DynamoDB and people started paying for it. It taught me how to build, ship, sell and support software on my own, and it put my career on an exponential trajectory. A lot of what I've done since traces back to it.
Then I neglected it.
Other things took my time. Releases got rare, bugs piled up, and some of you waited far too long for fixes. People trusted it with their daily work and I let it slide. I've felt guilty about that for a long time.
So I went back to it, properly.
Today I'm proud to introduce @dynobase 3.0: almost every bug fixed, tons of new functionality, and a fresh coat of paint.
A rebuilt interface, in light and dark
- ⌘K to jump to any table across every profile and region
- Semantic search over DynamoDB vector indexes
- A built-in MCP server, so Claude Code, Cursor and other agents can query your tables (read-only unless you allow writes)
- Click into nested JSON and filter on any value
- Schema explorer and visual item diff
- Bulk edits with a preview, PartiQL writes with a confirmation, change history with undo, on-demand backups
- Live tail, CloudWatch metrics, a streams viewer, and CDK / CloudFormation / Terraform export
- SSO that just works, scans you can pause and resume, and edits that won't silently overwrite someone else's changes
It now runs on Mac, Windows and Linux.
To everyone who kept using Dynobase while I was away: thank you, and I'm sorry. And if it ever let you down, give it another shot.
⚡️ DynamoDB Pro Tip: Use BatchGetItem for retrieving multiple items in parallel instead of multiple GetItem operations. But remember the 16MB response size limit!

Starting 2024 with an official launch🔥
For the past month+ I've been working on @chatwithcloud, a way to chat with your AWS.
How can it help you?
🛠️ Troubleshooting - understand why things aren't working
💸 Cost Analysis - why am I spending so much on AWS?
🔐 Security Analysis - IAM, KMS, S3 are complicated but my CLI can help you understand it
🧠 Even building, fixing & destroying stuff - since ChatWithCloud can do API calls on your behalf, it can even provision/update/delete resources if you want
Right now, ChatWithCloud is working in a "pay once and bring your own OpenAI key" model but the keyless+subscription model is coming soon as well.
Try it now, for free: chatwithcloud.ai or just `npx chatwithcloud` and let me know what do you think.

🚀 We’re excited to announce the launch of DynamoDB incremental export to S3. You can now export changed data from your DynamoDB tables, making it easier to keep your S3 data lakes updated regularly. 👉 go.aws/3EWzUId
