I hear it all the time. "Self-care, who has time for that?" When life is busy, remember you don't have to "do" self-care; you can "be" self-care too. Be patient & kind to yourself; forgive yourself; honor yr good intentions. *Don't* harass yourself; be on your own side instead.

Outrageously presumptuous and simplistic suggestion that grandparents step in and provide free child care. Of course many already do this - and often take on too much, can't say no or set limits, and end up burned out, exhausted, sick, depressed. Many are also still working themselves and do this at great personal cost. And those are the loving ones! Then there are the controlling or flat out abusive ones, the ones you wouldn't want anywhere near your kids or family. People who pay for child care have reasons, and it's generally not because there is a loving family just sitting around nearby, with nothing to do, ready to pitch in. Puhleeze. It's already all-hands-on-deck.

Back in the 90s, I tried to see @GreenDay at the Hatch Shell in Boston. There was a quasi riot and they had to stop after just a few songs. Thirty years later, I finally got to see them live tonight at @fenwaypark. Dare I say, it was worth the wait. They played all of Dookie and American Idiot, beginning to end in order, and more on top of that. Tons of energy and joy and passion the whole time. Totally unmissable tour if you are a fan at all.
