InDesign text stores variable font axes in the text attribute for the font style name. xitter.cf/IxtaTypeUI/status/1873…
Here the attribute objects for Myriad Pro vs. Myriad Variable Concept. Using a plug-in, with persistent footprint. Bold != Bold. VF axes are stored in the same attribute, by order / without tags.

The same font style of a variable font has inconsistent names in the UI - "Custom" in controlstrip dropdown vs. "[696 100]" in character style vs. "Bold-696.000" in style info. xitter.cf/IxtaTypeUI/status/1873…
When I change the weight to 696, the font style dropdown shows custom, but within a character style, it lists the axes and a different name as description.

I've been fascinated by a special type of programmer, the devs who don't use IDE features like: -autocomplete/copilot -LSP - go-to-def What allows them to just rawdog text editors? Do they have superhuman coding ability? I asked them and here is a thread of what they said:

Sunday afternoon in the shelters. After months Hamas rockets target the centre again. A rarity for us, an almost daily threat for the people in the South. I hope everybody is safe.
