Math was bound to fall first. The purer the field the easier it is for AI to crack.

I’m convinced that the key to overcoming anything is to shrink the time horizon. Just focus on the next hour. Do one thing that moves you forward. One closed loop. One workout. One hard conversation. Whatever. Do that. Then do it again. Momentum is a byproduct of movement.

There were a lot of things that only worked because there's a limit to the rate at which humans can operate. We're about to find out what all of them are, as they break.

We are going to learn how many systems only work today because they are built around friction that will no longer exist soon.
Fascinating. Chief Economist at Apollo: agents could cause a bank run by sweeping household cash into accounts paying 3-5% instead of the 0.1% national average, causing banks to lose a large share of their cheap deposits.

This moment will be discussed in MBA classes and motivational speeches. There was no added pressure in his mind because for him it was just about winning the next point and the next game. Doesn't even bother keeping track of the score in his mind. Just win the next point.

Good post on how to think about process redesign in an enterprise with AI Agents. Unfortunately for most workflows, there’s no “easy” button. The best way to get real efficiency gains is you have to actually reengineer the process to take advantage of what agents are actually good at and can do differently and faster than people. One of the challenges of course is that the most important workflows actually space many functions at once, so someone needs to be able to go in and retool how work happens. “Nobody in that chain is empowered to walk into finance, for example, and say that their 14 step process should actually only be 5 steps. So nobody does it. Instead, you 'apply AI' on what you currently have, and you end up with faster sh*t.” This is the road ahead for AI diffusion in enterprises. This also presents the clear opportunity for companies - both at the applied AI layer (regardless of the article’s title) and teams or companies that can go and implement transformation into the enterprises. And all roads lead to FDEs one way or another.

Run a company long enough and you realize it just comes down to four things: Hire A players. Align incentives. Track performance. Get out of their way.

Hiring another person feels productive because something changed. Fixing the process feels slow because nobody notices. That’s why companies keep adding payroll to problems that should have been eliminated.

If you look at your calendar for the last month or your to-do list for next week, or the lack thereof, are you hunting field mice or antelope? Another way I often approach this is to look at my to-do list and ask: Which one of these, if done, would render all the rest either easier or completely irrelevant? Separately: Which undone item, if done, would liberate the most energy for me personally? Reread The 80/20 Principle for good measure. And if all of that yields no fruit, you might find that the to-do item you’ve been avoiding the longest, punting from week to week or month to month, is precisely the antelope you should be tracking tomorrow morning. Happy hunting.

Gen Z entrepreneurship increasingly looks like running a portfolio of asymmetric coups rather than betting everything on one serious, long-term project. One month it’s an AI wrapper. Then a TikTok Shop product, a viral food trend, or buying scarce inventory during a shortage and renting it back at triple the price. In Europe you can also trade the state: find the latest subsidy, regulation or public failure and put yourself in the middle. Build the website over a weekend, extract as much as possible while the window is open, then abandon it as soon as the trade stops working. It’s basically entrepreneurial day trading. Low commitment, limited downside, permanent optionality and a small chance one bet makes you rich. And honestly, it’s rational. Why spend ten years committing to one difficult company when AI lets you place ten cheap bets per year and one winning bet can make you rich?

Something I told 14 yo: People are going to stop reading books. I wish this wasn't so, but I fear it is. The silver lining in this cloud is that if you're one of the few people who still read, you'll have a huge advantage over everyone else.

2. Everything's Important Which means nothing's important. Which means everything moves a little. Which means nothing gets truly accomplished. Which means your list grows but your impact doesn't. You've confused Motion with Momentum.

If I could pick "grown up" concepts I'd like kids to learn about earlier, counter-intuitiveness would be high on the list. One of the problems with teaching things by rote is that you also implicitly teach that the truth is obvious, when in fact it's often surprising.

Most CEOs think their team lacks ownership. In reality, the team is just adapting to how decisions get made. If everything routes back to you… that’s not a people problem. It’s a leadership pattern. Which one are you actually running? 👇️ #leadership
