I published this article on @metricxyz yesterday in our free newsletter to all subscribers, but wanted to share here on X as well. I added a few updates, including some very simple assumptions I'm making on generating points/LP strategy:

Robinhood, Coinbase and Stripe all have their own chains now Spark CEO @hexonaut says the liquidity still ends up on Ethereum: "The liquidity, I believe, is going to continue to consolidate on, I would say, Ethereum specifically" "You're not gonna use your competitor's chain" "Ethereum is the RWA lead right now. And just due to network effects... that effect just tends to compound"

We should also become exponentially more impressed with the onchain protocols that have never been hacked with every passing month
The best point - we should become much more confident in those cryptographic schemes that are not cracked by frontier models over the next few months (because confidence in cryptographic schemes comes from the amount of MathIQ-hours spent that failed to crack a problem)

Ethereum is settlemenet layer of choice for global banks - @DeutscheBank and @jpmorgan building on @ethereum $DB $JPM
Two major pieces of Ethereum news landed today: Deutsche Bank, Germany’s largest bank, is reportedly preparing to offer institutional ETH custody, while JPMorgan, the largest bank in the United States, is bringing JPM Coin’s tokenized dollar deposits to Ethereum. Two giants of traditional finance embracing Ethereum and ETH. But the price barely reacted, whereas on another network, people would be expecting a major pump. There are two reasons for this. First, ETH is larger and more liquid than most competing assets, so it takes more buying pressure to move it. Second, the market already expects major institutions to build on Ethereum. Another announcement is not subverting expectations. Some people might say Ethereum is cursed: success is expected, and it only has something to lose when it disappoints. This is where Ethereum bulls diverge from bears. For years, bulls predicted the adoption now materializing before our eyes. This was NOT consensus. People said institutions would never use Ethereum, or would build everything privately. Now it’s: “That’s already priced in. Good for Ethereum, but how does it accrue value to ETH?” There are two things that mentality ignores. First, this is financial adoption, with size. The players matter, but so do the capital they commit, the assets they tokenize, and how deeply they integrate their products and services. All of that shows growing trust in Ethereum as a financial network, both for people using layer one directly and for layer twos using it for settlement. We are gradually building an internet of finance where the underlying network has one native asset: Ether. ETH secures that system and can be used directly as collateral. Bringing Bitcoin or any other asset, into Ethereum requires additional backing, bridge, or custody arrangements. Native ETH already belongs there. Why does this matter so much? Financial activity settling on Ethereum does not pay Bitcoin’s miners. Bitcoin’s own security model anticipates transaction fees replacing its declining issuance. That activity will not magically show up on Bitcoin just because its proponents expect it to. Second, the uncertainty pushed around ETH’s supply ignores what has actually happened. Since the Merge, ETH’s net supply has grown roughly 1.3% in total, while continuing to reward the stakers securing it. Stakers can earn above supply dilution, with transaction income on top. For an asset used as a store of value, that cannot simply be ignored. There is already actual substance behind ETH’s gradual recognition as a store of value. The network has matured. Proof of stake has years of operation behind it. Current SEC guidance identifies ETH as a digital commodity. The ETFs that critics said would never happen now exist, including BlackRock’s multibillion-dollar fund. Treasury companies like Bitmine and Sharplink are accumulating ETH at scale, and their holdings can produce staking income. That adds another way for investors to gain exposure, and another reason to hold the asset. So when bulls talk about ETH eventually flipping Bitcoin, then gold, this is what they are looking at: an asset with restrained supply growth, native yield, and direct usefulness in a growing financial system. You can disagree with that thesis. But “the price didn’t move” does not answer it. Fundamentals are moving int the right direction, but price is a lagging metric. Many of the things bulls expected are happening. The argument is that ETH is severely underpriced, and that the market still underestimates where it leads.

Is @RAILGUN_Project a mixer? No! But Railgun is a privacy tool! @tsu_kareta explains how it differs, offering privacy for your DeFi on Ethereum, while a mixer is strictly to break the chain of custody between two addresses. Instead, Railgun is a safe with a lockbox, one you can put any Ethereum-supported token in it, and use zero-knowledge proofs to spend from it privately or access integrated DeFi like lending, borrowing, and swaps.

Fiskantes reminded me of @zeroxkyle's pitch for robinhood:0xaa07a0e9209e16ac99708c3ec70159c6ef3128a3 on a recent @edge_pod. At the time, ORBIO was in an uptrend, days shy of an ATH $0.12 and tbf has retraced 85% to $0.02 since. His thesis stands: great founder, novel product, good vertical (tokenized inference markets)
Bought some Orbio as a "liquid venture" position (= small, passively held, expecting high multiples or 0) Met the founder in SG and think they are going to crush it

Lighter ethereum:0x232ce3bd40fcd6f80f3d55a522d03f25df784ee2 is showing local strength for the first time in a month or two which represents a change in character, and has flipped the 21ema for the first time since the downtrend started (pending daily close, of course). The investor update call today addressed all of the most important things in the near future: integrations, CFTC licensing process, and the elephant in the room: unlocks starting in late December The narrative has been they "lost the Robinhood partnership". This couldn't be further from accurate but still crushed momentum and was the last straw leading the final leg down of a ~50% drawdown peak to trough. The team continues to ship with binary options and full options rollout on the horizon in addition to the more important CFTC/regulatory side. @TrustlessState's question from the Q&A: "Given all the pre-engagement effort, do you expect the license to come earlier than the 180-day time window that the CFTC says?" @vnovakovski: "we think a lot of the [pre-engagement] will make the process a lot smoother... CFTC has a lot of things on their plate so dont have exact timeline... but it's a fast moving team over there so we expect the process to be smooth" gLIT 🕯️

This @metricxyz protocol seems like a substantial leap for AMM LPs. It's still new to me but I grow more confident as I'm playing with LPs. Team is S-tier. Few simple tips: 1⃣Look for the green dot, indicating 'safer' pools 2 'Deep liq' is >$200k, as it can do 10x vol / day 3⃣Don't be afraid to pick narrow ranges of price bins, as the pool relies on a price provider and applies its own execution logic, where LPs don't need to withdraw and redeposit to follow the price Caution: Doesn't mean your liq can't fall out of range and experience IL but ideally, you should end up back in range if the pool's working correctly to adjust the ref price based on an external price provider feed. Think of @metricxyz like a Morpho-style curated AMM LP that stays in-range by adjusting liquidity to follow a real-world price feed. The pool doesn't have an opinion on price, it relies on the price provider. Note: We are not investors, Metric is not a sponsor/partner. This post is not paid but we do have a referral link you might receive a boost on points in future--but I truthfully don't know any details beyond this could payoff in points later (no guarantee). 🔗 app.metric.xyz/r/edge
Is @metricxyz The Biggest Opportunity Since Hyperliquid? I wrote about why I think it could be. What I like about the “Morpho of DEXs,” the risks I’m still digging into and why I’m planning to LP ahead of a potential airdrop. the-edge.xyz/p/is-metric-the…

Last 30 days: + 90% of onchain options market + 5% of Deribit’s volumes + Just did $1.07B notional traded in 1 week + Team's fully aligned around ethereum:0xb1d1eae60eea9525032a6dcb4c1ce336a1de71be, no equity + V3 went live with zero issue, now zkVM on Ethereum One of my highest conviction bets in my portfolio, still adding at these prices.
In "Breaking the Wall," @citrini gave DERIVE $DRV a 10% weight, tied for the biggest in its 15-token crypto portfolio The bull case is mass adoption of on-chain options to hedge tokenized stocks and commodities Derive had 74.9% of onchain options volume as of Sept 25, and its V3 upgrade went live Oct 6th. V3 lists BTC, ETH, HYPE and other alts, plus only one real-world asset group: gold, via XAUT. The biggest room for growth is in the RWA space IMO. The volume is real. Options volume hit $14.22B this year by Sept 25, about 2.6x all of 2025, with a record $3.43B in September The token has been on a huge run lately. $DRV ran to an all-time high of $0.569 on Oct 9th from $0.137 on Sept 16th. Most of that move happened before Citrini published Fees per trade are shrinking, though. Derive earned 1.19 bps of volume in September, its lowest of the year So revenue went the other way. Q3 came in at $1.69M vs $1.88M in Q2, despite record volume Value capture got stronger on Oct 14th. Holders voted 47.69M to 0 to send 50% of net fees to DRV buybacks, up from 35%, with the other half going to the insurance fund Buybacks are SO hot right now. When Nick Forster came on @MilkRoadDaily in August, he told me the core contributors never raised money into an equity entity, so the token is the one instrument in the Derive ecosystem That is so powerful to hear because it makes the investment thesis very clear and simple. Everyone is aligned on the token. No nonsense. I love this More than 28M DRV has been bought back so far For context, about $6.6M of annualized revenue against a $429M market cap is roughly 65x. Which is rich. But it reflects how strongly so many believe in the potential of an onchain options product Supply: 1.0B of 1.5B DRV circulates per CoinGecko, and 230M contributor tokens vest over 4 years now that their $150M market cap gate is met The prize is big if this works out. Onchain options open interest is about $2B vs about $40B globally, and Forster puts Deribit at 70-75% of crypto options So, the market is huge, but competition is coming. @Lighter_xyz's Trevor King @trevor_flipper told me on @MilkRoadDaily that Lighter plans to have a full options suite by the end of the year Hyperliquid and many other big players will also be coming after Derive's market, but Nick and his team have been locked in exclusively on onchain options for many years now, and they have a really high-quality product. I don't think any of this hits primetime until 2027 at the earliest. Capital is still getting used to things like Perps and Prediction Markets. I don't think they're going to be ready for onchain options for a little bit yet. But this is coming. And soon. And with size. Once $DRV starts moving into equities options and not just crypto and gold, the onchain options markets are going to rip. At that point, Citrini's 10% allocation to $DRV could start to look like a brilliant move. I was early to $UNI (+54.8%), $AERO (+93.7%), and $SOL (+39.1%) in my Milk Road PRO portfolio Try Milk Road PRO for $1 for 7 days, link in bio: @BitcoinJesusETH

Wow, such a cool development by @Trueo_ x @DefiLlama At minimum, very interesting experimentation for PMs to bet on protocol revenue + protocol exploits. There is issue with hackers/exploiters abusing these PMs before doing damage via the actual hack, but that could also be signal of something sinister about to take place. Really interested to see this play out more. 🦙 defillama.com/predictions
Our new exploit markets have the potential to solve DeFi hack risk. Imagine you're entering a DeFi pool, but are concerned about the tail risk of an exploit. If the market prices that at 1% odds, you can put 1% of your deposit towards that and fully hedge your position.
