Bpifrance is the most active European public investor in VC. Dealroom data shows it joined 817 rounds directly since January 2021, with an estimated €3.2B of its own money.
Startups in the European Union raised $18.1B in venture capital in Q3 2026, up 90% on the same quarter last year and 37% on the previous quarter.
Dealroom counts 765 rounds in the quarter. The largest was Mistral AI's $3.3B Series D, backed by PSG, Samsung Electronics and the Scaleup Europe Fund.

Cohere has signed a letter of intent to acquire AISLE, a San Francisco and Prague startup that uses AI to find and fix unknown software vulnerabilities.
