Status report on unauthorized asset transfers in the DCENT App Wallet
We recognize the serious concern this issue has caused. This report is based on the facts confirmed as of September 17, 2026.
The latest DCENT app includes a check to help determine whether action may be required. Please update the app to the latest version and run the check.
POTENTIAL SCOPE OF IMPACT
Based on our technical analysis to date, the primary criteria for potential impact are:
· The recovery phrase was at some point entered into the DCENT App Wallet
· That address has a history of sending (signing) — including token and NFT transfers, token approvals, and dApp transactions
· The signing took place on an app version below 8.1.0 (released 2025-11-05)
· The address is on Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRPL, TRON, an EVM-based network, or another potentially affected chain
The version used at the time of signing is what matters. Receive-only addresses have relatively lower potential impact, but this does not mean all risk is excluded. Unauthorized transactions were first observed on Android; however, the same potential impact applies to iOS.
HARDWARE WALLETS
Connecting your hardware wallet to the app is not affected. Your wallet key stays on the device and is not passed to the app.
This report concerns recovery phrases that were entered into the App Wallet. If a hardware wallet's recovery phrase was ever entered into the App Wallet, please check whether action is required — this applies regardless of whether the recovery phrase was originally created using the App Wallet or a hardware wallet.
WHAT TO DO
If the in-app check indicates that action is required:
1. Update the DCENT app to the latest version through an official app store before moving any assets.
2. Create a new wallet using a completely new recovery phrase. Do not restore or reuse the existing recovery phrase.
3. Move your assets to the new address, including tokens, NFTs, staked assets, and token approval permissions.
4. Do not reuse the existing address for deposits, signing, approvals, or any other purpose.
ONGOING RESPONSE
The matter has been reported to and accepted by Korean law enforcement authorities. DCENT has established a hotline with law enforcement and begun tracing stolen funds with an external security team.
We are also working with exchanges, relevant authorities, and on-chain analytics specialists to trace and pursue the freezing of assets suspected of being stolen.
Whether and when assets can be frozen or recovered depends on actions by authorities and third parties, subsequent blockchain activity, and the outcome of the investigation.
SCAM WARNING
· DCENT does not operate official messenger channels on Telegram, Discord, or similar platforms.
· DCENT does not operate "CTO," "Support," or "Help" accounts.
· No one from DCENT will ask for your recovery phrase, wallet key, or PIN, or instruct you through a direct message to transfer funds.
· Do not enter or provide your recovery phrase, wallet key, or PIN to any account or channel claiming to offer asset recovery or support. Trust only DCENT's official channels.
We will continue to provide updates through this official account as additional facts are confirmed.

⚠️ DCENT users: please check whether action is required.
This applies if you use the DCENT App Wallet (software wallet) or if you have ever entered or restored your hardware wallet recovery phrase into the App Wallet.
Please update the DCENT app to v10.0.0 first, then run “Check if action is needed” and follow the result shown in the app.
Please review the full guide below.
Important guidance for DCENT users following the recent App Wallet (software wallet) incident.
Please review this guide to check whether action is required and what steps you should take. If you use the DCENT App Wallet(software wallet), please check now.
🚨 VERIFY FIRST🚨
DCENT has NO separate support accounts on X and NO official Telegram or Discord support channels.

If someone approaches you by DM claiming to be DCENT Support or Tech Team, stop communicating and report them.
NEVER share your recovery phrase or private key via text, website or form. Never send funds for “recovery” or “compensation.”
Important Update: Who Needs to Take Action
We’ve published a step-by-step guide to help DCENT users quickly check whether the recent App Wallet action applies to them.
You need to take action if:
• You first installed the DCENT app before Nov 5, 2025, and
• You made transactions using the App Wallet on a version earlier than v8.1.0
You do NOT need to take action if:
• You first installed the app on or after Nov 5, 2025, or
• You only used a DCENT Hardware Wallet (Biometric Wallet, DCENT S, DCENT X) and never signed transactions with the App Wallet
Fastest way to check:
1. Open the DCENT app (link.dcentwallet.com/)
2. Tap “Check if action is needed” on the Urgent Security Action Notice Pop Up windows
3. Follow the result shown in the app
If the app says “Asset transfer action required”:
→ Update to the latest DCENT app first
→ Then follow the asset migration guide
If the app says “We can’t confirm if action is required”:
→ This does not mean you are safe
→ Check your installation date and App Wallet usage manually
If you are still unsure, please follow the guidance in the full article and treat yourself as subject to the action.

Update: Hardware Wallet users: check whether your hardware wallet also needs protective action.
The recent incident involves the DCENT App Wallet (software wallet), not the hardware wallet itself.
However, if your hardware wallet’s recovery phrase was ever entered into the DCENT App Wallet, that same wallet may still need to be checked.
That’s why the latest app pop-up now includes a “Check hardware wallet” button.
Tap it and check whether both conditions apply:
• You used a DCENT App Wallet with the same recovery phrase as your hardware wallet
• You signed a transaction in that App Wallet on a version earlier than v8.1.0 (Nov 5, 2025)
Both apply → follow the asset transfer guide.
They do not both apply → no additional action is required for your hardware wallet based on the current criteria.
Update the app to the latest version, then tap “Check hardware wallet.”

Important Notice
We have detected abnormal asset transfers involving the DCENT App Wallet and are currently conducting an urgent investigation.
Based on our initial findings, the issue appears to be limited to the DCENT App Wallet.
If either of the following applies to you, we strongly recommend transferring your assets as soon as possible to a secure hardware wallet or another trusted wallet address:
• You hold any assets, regardless of amount, in the DCENT App Wallet.
• You use the same mnemonic phrase for both the DCENT App Wallet and a hardware wallet.
⚠️ Please be alert for scams.
Do not send assets to any wallet address provided through DMs or unofficial channels, and do not click links or follow transfer instructions from unverified sources.
We will provide further updates through this official account as soon as we confirm the cause, scope of impact, and necessary response measures.

Important Update Regarding the DCENT App Wallet
To date, abnormal asset transfer cases have been identified involving the DCENT App Wallet. So far, we have not confirmed any impact originating from DCENT Hardware Wallets themselves.
Please follow the guidance below based on how you use the DCENT app.
If you hold assets in the DCENT App Wallet, or if the same recovery phrase is used for both your DCENT App Wallet and a hardware wallet:
Please update the DCENT app to the latest version before transferring any assets to a secure hardware wallet or another trusted wallet address.
• Update the DCENT app before transferring any assets.
• Do not initiate transactions through the DCENT App Wallet before updating the app.
• If the same recovery phrase is used in the DCENT App Wallet, action is required regardless of where that recovery phrase was originally generated.
If you only use your DCENT Hardware Wallet with the DCENT app:
No additional action is required for your hardware wallet if you have never entered or restored that hardware wallet’s recovery phrase in the DCENT App Wallet.
⚠️ Please remain vigilant against impersonation and phishing attempts.
• DCENT will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key, nor will we ask you to send assets to a separate wallet address for recovery or compensation.
• Do not follow recovery or compensation instructions, wallet addresses, or links sent through DMs, email, social media, or other unofficial channels.
We are prioritizing the investigation into the related cases and will provide further updates through our official channels as soon as the cause, scope of impact, and additional response measures are confirmed.

If you do not see the pop-up, it means no App Wallet is registered in your DCENT app, so no action is required.
