The time Dolly Parton and Kermit jammed to Sly and the Family Stone. This is always how I will remember her.

Teaching “The Princess Bride” and “A Few Good Men” in my film courses was always illuminating and always a pleasure. These Rob Reiner films are masterpieces. He knew human beings and he knew movies.

“Life is a gamble, at terrible odds. If it were a bet you wouldn't take it.” Tom Stoppard 1937 – 2025. Today we join with writers and theatre artists across the world to mark the passing of Tom Stoppard, a playwright whose work probed the deepest human mysteries of truth, time, mortality and frailty while dazzling with wit, laughter and the buoyancy of the human spirit.

Mads Mikkelsen did every move in the final dance. He’d been a pro dancer but hadn’t used those skills in 30 years. It was shot after the director’s daughter died, giving the moment its raw power. Director later called the film a “beautiful catastrophe.”

Here is my best guidance, rendered beautifully by the great @JohnLithgow. I first published these lessons nearly nine years ago, in late 2016. They open the twenty chapters of "On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century." youtu.be/cXR5HLodsT8

Robert Redford carried the torch for independent film when American cinema was barely a thing. He made political films that informed us and helped hold power structures accountable. One hell of an actor. I choose to believe that Martin Bishop has merely gone back underground.

Worth a try, some great mechanics. And free.
The Atlantic recently launched a suite of games—Bracket City, Fluxis, and Stacks—that join old favorites such as our crossword and Caleb’s Inferno. Our audience and engagement editor Emma Williams takes you along with her to the launch party for the puzzles. Game lovers, puzzle makers, and Atlantic staff came together to celebrate the new additions at Montague Diner in Brooklyn, which is co-owned by Ben Gross, the creator of Bracket City. And in honor of the origin story of Bracket City, which was conceptualized by Gross on a place mat at the diner, partygoers were encouraged to solve a real-life version of the game to win prizes. Play The Atlantic’s full suite of games on our website and app: theatln.tc/tuwIBm4Q

Hello! I'm usually not the type to do this sort of thing, but I thought I'd help spread awareness of the "Stop Killing Games" movement. Please spare it some attention if it's an issue that you care about. Thanks! #StopKillingGames
