Great example of design thinking and creativity… Someone saw the Pro football Hall of Fame and thought “that looks like a citrus fruit juicer” and decided to make that happen.

Saw the new Alton Brown tour show… Like previous tours and his work on TV, lots of humor & stories…. And I’m a math and science teacher, lots of great ideas for food science. See it for yourself!

It’s true. AI can’t cook. And the shirt doesn’t lie.

The best part? Parents who got to hold in their hand a 3d printed cookie cutter they designed all by themselves! STEM is rocket science & flying cars, but parents need to know how easy it is to get started & help their own kids be better at STEM!

Over the last 18 months, we’ve gotten to watch a park be constructed right outside our classroom window! Here’s 300+ photos of the progress from start to finish of Unity Park in Grand Rapids:

I showed my students the videos of Tesla roadster in classes today… “No it’s not AI” “It’s using air, not fuel” “Everyone who designed that flying car learned their math and science in school just like you are learning it now.”
Turns out the future does have flying cars

Our school had a “parents night” on Friday… I was asked to show what we do in our Science & STEM classes… so I taught parents the engineering design cycle, then used it to build with KEVAplanks, Tinkercad, & how to use calipers to accurately measure a LEGO. (1/2)

Hey teachers, don’t give candy to your students, give them a simple lesson in cooking… Great job @smorrisey!
I like to cook from time to time for my 5th grade students. Today I sauteed asparagus for them. I sauteed the asparagus in olive oil and added salt, pepper, and garlic powder. One student was adamant that he hated asparagus. I gently encouraged him to try a spear. He came back up for thirds. It would have been fourths or fifths if we had it. I overheard another student say, "this is so good. I don't think my parents know how to cook asparagus."

Hey teachers… if you’re teaching coding & robotics, you should also be teaching metallurgy & fabrication
Unlimited demand industries right now: - minerals - shipping - metals - large fab - waterjet - tube laser - skilled technicians

If your car displays this on a cold Fall morning, it is such a good opportunity to talk about science and how lower temperatures cause lower air pressure. Science! #STEMisAllAroundUs
Nothing says fall in Texas quite like the return of the tire pressure light. That little glow is also a good reminder that cooler weather is on the way, and now is the time to start getting winter ready! Winter preparedness starts before winter does.
