What a beautiful day to celebrate Ukrainian heritage in Edmonton!
I spent time at UFest Edmonton Ukrainian Festival then went to the @cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company to celebrate renaming a street in Beverly “Cheremosh Way” and did some dancing with @JanisIrwin! 💛 💙

When Stephan Moravski designed the set for our storyline’s village, he added hollyhock, a popular flower in Ukraine. Little did he know that this flower blooms behind Cheremosh’s studio every summer.
Come see the rest of this incredible set on tour - Edmonton June 4 & 5.
Thank you @cityofkelowna! We had an amazing time performing for you. Next stop: @jubilee_ab in Edmonton June 4 & 5.

Patterns of kalyna (cranberries) are common with Ukrainian embroidery, as they are the national symbol of Ukraine, representing love and motherhood. This @cheremosh dance costume is intertwined with maple leaves, representing Ukrainian and Canadian cultures. #ThreadsThatConnect
