Tana & Baby boy
Our newest addition is most certainly keeping his Mom extremely busy! This video was taken when he was only 4 days old! He is already mock charging and play challenging his Mom. Tana’s son is a very strong newborn calf with limitless energy and it seems he is ready to take on the world!

Happy World Rhino Day 2023!
Spirit’s little girl is just over two weeks old! Her Mom is still hiding her away from the rest of the crash as she spends quality time bonding with her first daughter.
Released orphan Spirit, gave birth to her first calf.
Spirit was rescued in 2017 after poachers killed her mom. Spirit had a complex rehabilitation process with recurring pneumonia and lung issues. The team fought for her life every day. With dedication and commitment, Spirit began to grow stronger and began the rewilding and release program in 2019.
Today we share this monumental moment with Spirit Foundation who have supported Spirit since her arrival as a small orphan. Thank you for standing beside Spirit and Care for Wild in this journey.

In collaboration with Save Giraffes Now, Care for Wild has introduced two young female southern giraffes to our Protected Area. The move aligns with the urgent need to protect giraffe populations against their drastic decline and silent extinction.
Care for Wild’s Protected Area offers safety from habitat loss and human wildlife conflicts whilst the giraffe’s presence actively promotes a healthy ecosystem, supports biodiversity and increases the genetic diversity of the existing giraffe population.

In a similar style to his name reveal video, any and all plans to film a beautiful first Birthday video were thwarted by Axl’s super protective and feisty Mom, Olive! Olive repeatedly makes any kind of filming a challenge. Since her rescue over 11 years ago Olive has been a fierce fire cracker and to this day she retains her title.
