Any credible allegation of voter fraud should be taken seriously and investigated.
That being said, the action by Trump’s DOJ — charging just 28 individuals — suggests they have no evidence to back up their claims just last week of TENS or HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of illegally registered voters.
Yes, non-citizen voter registration and voting does happen in isolated instances — in California and the rest of the country alike — but it is so rare that the Trump admin is parading around town about .0001% of California voters.
If the feds were serious about this, they would have done this long ago — not in the middle of people voting, which inherently and needlessly sows distrust and doubt in our democracy.

Crews worked throughout the night to attack the fire and strengthen containment lines. The fire remains at 570 acres and is now 5% contained.
As reported yesterday, six homes have been damaged or destroyed. The cause remains under investigation.
We have secured a Fire Management Assistance Grant from @FEMA to help ensure critical resources are available to suppress the #NorteFire in South Orange County.
@Cal_OES, @CAL_FIRE and local and state partners have been working through the night to protect Californians.
Residents in affected areas should follow guidance from local emergency officials.
Remain vigilant and listen to emergency officials as we continue to face high Santa Ana winds and work to suppress the Norte Fire in Orange County.
