In a year of midterm elections, health freedom advocates have been constantly told by thought leaders in the “MAHA” movement to withhold criticism of the Trump administration and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
And therein lies the validation of the warnings I’ve been giving since before the 2024 election: MAHA is a political hijacking of the grassroots health freedom movement, serving to effectively disarm it.
We’re being told to stand down when, if Biden’s HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra were doing the exact same thing, health freedom advocates would be up in arms.
While others have celebrated phantom victories, I've warned over and over that things are moving in the wrong direction, and my analyses have consistently proved prescient.
People accuse me of being negative. But I’m being realistic. I’m trying to illuminate a better path, one that will actually move us forward.
That’s what Bretigne Shaffer and I set out to do in our conversation on her podcast, What Then Must We Do? We look at what the top-down approach has actually delivered and what bottom-up change looks like instead.
