Yemen barely makes the news, despite the 8th year of war and an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. Don’t forget about Yemen.
This is #Yemen today:
🚨 Over 20 million people need humanitarian assistance.
🚨 Over 4.7 million women and children are acutely malnourished.
🚨 Over 3.3 million people have fled their homes.
and to be rescheduled!
Because of other events on campus, we have decided to cancel our event today and reschedule an online version. Please look out for details!

“44% of Yemen's population, some 10 million people, lack access to sufficient, nutritious food. Of these, roughly 5 million people are in extreme difficulty—without assistance, they will not have enough sustenance to survive.” 1/

part of resisting war is resisting the war economy. i’m organizing this with my neighbors in @RepMikeQuigley’s district as he continues to take campaign contributions from companies that profit off of conflict. can other folks in chicago join us? (@Blacks4Peace, @CapaDepaul)

This little detail of naming who are behind the "airstrikes" is crucial! Airstrikes are committed by the KSA/UAE led coalition, who are armed & trained by the U.S. Plz don't leave that out. Be the voice of Yemenis, they've been cut off from the world for THREE DAYS #YemenBlackout

This war is being waged on yemen by the Saudi and UAE governments. their efforts wouldn’t be possible without the assistance of the United States.
These three countries are starving out 30 million people while raining down bombs on their homes. Don’t speak gently about it.

if you’re tweeting about bombings in yemen make sure to say “Saudi-UAE led coalition with US backing” every other characterization is not accurate
