Matt Wells: Reggie Cannon has a knee injury. Could have ended his season with a surgery. Medical staff have avoided that. Just a matter of it not flaring up again. Could be in the team Wednesday. On Ibrahim Sadiq, unfortunate hamstring injury in training. Team's done well given.
Matt Wells on getting a win after a string of draws:
Two straight games where we've played like men. We've removed the naiveté from our game like at LA Galaxy. Strong with the ball. It's no coincidence that we've kept clean sheets in back-to-back games.
Matt Wells on Morgan Whittaker as a false 9:
We want to be unpredictable every week. We're clear in our identity (in generally). I don't want opponents to know where individuals are going to be. This was a continuation of that. He (Whittaker) had a good game.
Matt Wells said Loïc Williams had a bit of a knock to his quad and hamstring. Coaches had confidence in Noah Cobb. Switch was a bit precautionary. It worked out.
Final: Colorado Rapids 1, Vancouver Whitecaps 0!
A crucial win for the Pids! Morgan Whittaker's goal in the 81st is the difference! Really tight, chippy game. Colorado the better team probably, bit a real game of inches. Huge three points in the playoff race! #Rapids96
Doesn't need to be pretty! Morgan Whittaker has his first goal contribution since September 19! A huge goal for Colorado Rapids!
87' Final Rapids subs: Hamzat off with an injury. Cobb off. Williams and Travis on. Frederick back to midfield.
