2025 was a defining year for Btrust.
After several years of experimentation and learning alongside communities, this year marked the beginning of a more structured phase focused on strengthening the systems that support Bitcoin open‑source developers across the Global Majority.
Here’s a look at what we built and learnt throughout the year: xitter.cf/i/status/2042276615846…

This is a great step forward and will be a great environment for devs from the global majority to collaborate.
What goes into building a stronger Bitcoin ecosystem, beyond the code itself?
Our conversations with @StephTitcombe, @Murugi___ and @ihate1999 took us behind different parts of Btrust's work, from creating pathways for developers to grow, to communicating the work happening across the ecosystem and the vision guiding it all.
Each conversation offered a different perspective on what it takes to support the people building Bitcoin's future.
As we wrap up the first season of Btrust in Focus, take a look back at these final three episodes and catch up on all nine conversations on YouTube.

Over the past two editions, #BtrustDeveloperDay has brought together developers, designers, contributors, and builders from across the Bitcoin ecosystem.
Unfortunately, we won’t be hosting the event this year. We know many of you were looking forward to gathering again, and we’ll miss the opportunity to learn, connect, and build together.
We’re using this time to listen, reflect, and prepare for a bigger next chapter in 2027.
Thank you to everyone who has joined us, contributed, spoken, volunteered, and built alongside the community so far.
We can’t wait to welcome you back in 2027. More details are coming soon. Watch this space.

What does it mean to contribute to Bitcoin open-source projects in the age of AI?
AI can help developers investigate bugs, explore solutions, and write code. Turning that work into a useful contribution still requires technical judgement, testing, and an understanding of the project’s expectations.
Our latest article looks at where AI can help, how projects approach its use, and the responsibilities that remain with contributors.

Part of the journey is the end. ⚡
This Tuesday, Rust for Bitcoin 2.0 reaches its final milestone: Demo Day.
After weeks of intensive learning, hands on development, code reviews, and mentorship, participants will showcase the Bitcoin projects they’ve built and the skills they’ve developed throughout the program.
In partnership with @btrustteam, Rust for Bitcoin 2.0 bridges the gap between learning Rust and contributing to Bitcoin’s open source ecosystem, preparing developers to move beyond theory, engage with real codebases, and become active contributors to Bitcoin’s future.
Now, it’s time to put the work on display.
Real work start after the showcase.

🏆 BOSS Battle 2026: And the winners are...
Before we announce the winners, there’s something we want to say.
Over the last four weeks, we watched people show up, wrestle with problems, push through challenges, and turn ideas into working code.
Thank you. This is exactly what we envisioned BOSS Battle to be about, and you’re the ones who made it happen. 🧡
And today, we get to celebrate some of that work. 🧵
At @tabconf, @kelvinator05 just took the stage to talk about the growing role of the Global Majority in Bitcoin open-source development.
He highlighted how the ecosystem is growing beyond contributions to existing projects, with communities, conferences, and companies emerging across the Global Majority.
He also shared some of the impact and products coming out of the ecosystem, and how local developers are stepping up as contributors and maintainers.
This is at the heart of what we do at Btrust: supporting developers in the Global Majority and creating opportunities for them to contribute to Bitcoin open source and help shape its future. – at Atlanta, GA
We’re live at the @tabconf main stage! 🎤
@ItoroUk is talking about what it takes to make Bitcoin wallet code written in Rust 🦀 work across different programming languages, including Swift, Kotlin, Python, and Dart.
He’s breaking down the challenges developers face when bridging Rust with other languages and sharing practical ways to make Bitcoin tools work across different platforms.
